anyone have a recommendation for a good tattoo parlor? i think i finally decided on my next tattoo...but i'd like somewhere where someone feels comfortable drawing it for me so i'm going to get a paw print on the inside of my wrist to symbolize my passion for animals and rescue shelters/adoption, etc. BUT DH had the brilliant idea of making the paw print in the shape of michigan (sorta) --- the pad would be the mitten and the toes the UP. I don't know if it will work...so if it doesn't, I'll just do a generic paw print, but i'd really like to find a tattoo artist to draw it up for me
any recs would be greatly appreciated! thanks!!
Re: tattoo studio recs?
I highly recommend Rachel Gilbert from No Hope No Fear Tattoo. www.nohopenofeartattoo.com/
Between DH and I, we've had four tattoos done by Rachel and they've all turned out exceptional. She drew up an awesome design of my maiden name and married name initials into a turtle...sounds weird but it's awesome! Also, one of the ones she's done for DH is a paw print, (in support of our cat who is going through chemo) and Rachel was able to match the shading of the print from a picture of her paw, so it really looks like the cat just stepped onto his arm. Her ability to take an idea and turn it into art is phenomenal.
Someone recently asked at work. Here are the suggestions they recieved:
DERMAGRAPHICS
Dan Gilsdorf at Atlas Tattoo
Adorn Body Art
Luke Martin at Patron Saint Tattoo
Amanda Myers at Infinity Tattoo
First, are you new? If so, hi! Can I ask more about the pawprint tattoo? I want to get our pets prints tattooed on me at some point. You said she was able to use a picture to do it? I have Summit's feet scanned (she laid down on it for a nap one day), but Mitzie is too skittish and would run away when it turned on. : ) Do you have a picture of his tattoo I can see? I'm sure it won't do it justice, but I want to find someone amazing to do them.
Hi! I'm sort of new. I spend most of my time over in what's cooking, but read the Oregon boards, especially now that they're a lot more active.
She was able to do the paw print from a picture my husband took when Sierra was sleeping. She has mostly black pads with a little bit of pink, so he really wanted those subtleties to show up in a black/gray tattoo, it's a very simple tattoo, but exactly what he wanted - since it really is her print. http://tinyurl.com/2emlo3c (I don't know how to do a pic in post, so I hope this works.)
I love the story about your cat sleeping on the scanner. Too funny! We went through so many ideas of how to get her print, non-toxic paint, watercolor, etc. This was so much easier.
