Self uniting marriage license
Does anyone have a website with the laws on self uniting marriage license in PA (especially Lancaster County)?
We were married June 28, 2008 and used this license. A friend of ours mentioned that PA is no longer giving out such a license due to a law that was passed. I was just wondering if there was a certain cut off date that the marriage ceremony had to take place by. Basically wondering if we need to go to the JP.
I remember freaking out because a few months before our wedding because that whole mess occurred with the girl in York that had her marriage judged as invalid.

we were married on September 5, 2009 and used it without problems. they were still giving them out then so i think youre fine.
also, i had a friend who just used one in May and if they indeed passed a law banning it i would think that she would have been told then.
i contacted the dauphin county recorder and asked about the use of self uniting licenses in PA. she said that they are still being issued.
i questioned the legality of our marriage having used one in the past and she advised me to contact an attorney as she couldnt give comment on marriage legality.
Our friends did this as well. I believe they had a summer 2009 wedding.
What specifically makes you question the legality?
