AF after getting off of bc... warning tmi for some maybe

Hey ladies question for you... after you stopped bc how long did it take for your af to return??? I stopped May 5th and then around the 5th of June I had some light spotting then this month nothing at all I had a lot of cramps and bloating and broke out a little but it was a false alarm... I'm getting a little worried did this happen to any of you I wonder if it just takes time to regulate and DH and I have been "safe" when it comes to getting prego so i know thats not it

Re: AF after getting off of bc... warning tmi for some maybe

  • It took me a few months to regulate, I would have spotting at random times, etc, but now it is all good.  I have heard it can take up to a year for your body to regulate itself, depending on how long you have been on it.  If you have been using other precautions I would say that you are probably fine and your body is just regulating, it has only been 2 months so I would not worry yet!

Had the EXACT same thing myself! I stopped BCP in April. Had a normal AF end of May. Had really weird spotting for a week mid-June. Finally had a normal AF again beginning of July. It is all out of whack!!! Hoping it starts cooperating now as we are just starting to TTC!

  • I got mine about a month later, but it was about 6 months before I ovulated again.  It really depends on your body, the type of BC you were on, and for how long, but usually they say to give your body 3-6 months to regulate again.
  • mine stayed very normal for the most part. what pissed me off after stopping bc was the stupid ass effing chin hairs i have now! stupid regulated hormones with the bc, and then your body doesn't know what to do with itself once you're off!!! STUPID CHIN HAIRSSSSSSSS
