If you have ever had boudoir photos done...

Were you nervous?  How did you deal?

Where did you find inspiration for poses and outfits?

Did your H love/dislike/didn't really care about the pics?

If you could do it over again, would you?

I was seriously considering having these done for Casey's birthday, but when I started thinking about having an actual session done, I almost had a panic attack.  I don't usually dress like that, esp. in front of anyone but him.  The whole process seems like it'd be very awkward and uncomfy.

Thoughts, por favor?

Re: If you have ever had boudoir photos done...

  • LOL

Yes, I had them done two times and loved doing them. DH LOVED the pictures too. The 1st time I had them done for his wedding present. He knew nothing about them either.

My photographer's was a couple. I was very nervous at first but after about 30 min's, I warmed up and you could even tell in the pictures. I took a friend with me so I wasn't alone. Also, the photographer's bought me wine. haha

After I was done, I felt SO sexy. I didn't know I had that in me. I'd do them every year if I could. haha I think every girl should at one point in their life.

For inspiration, I just looked online at other peoples pics. I took a bunch of outfits so I had different choices.

  • I really want to do one... I am working on weight right now and once I am done and I hit my goal... thats my reward to myself and dh reaps the benefits lol I think I would be nervous as well but then I would just think to myself this is for dh and I know it will make him happy and I most likely wont see these people again. I like the bring a friend idea and also having some wine to relax. Who is going to do your photos?
  • i LOVED my boudoir experiance!!! :D i booked my sesh with lynn dao and after me & lynn become wonderful friends! i love love her work!

i showed up at my sesh in sweat pants and a long sleeve shirt. lol. i was way nervous but after a few shots i was cool. i was like 'let me show some nipple lynn' hahaha. she offered wine once i got there but im not a drinker so i opted out. i found alot of inspiration with her previous work. alex loved the pics. when i dont feel like sex i tell alex to watch porno or look thro my pics. hahahaha. i would def do again in a heartbeat! i felt soooo sexy and beautiful after my session! plus i was in arizona bride magazine - what an ego boost hahaha

  • I've done them twice and LOVE them!  I also just shot four this weekend and everyone was pumped up and feeling great afterward.  I had one who had just had a baby 3 months ago who said she felt great about herself again.

When I did mine I wasn't really nervous because my best friend took them and I really enjoy being naked in general.   But if you are nervous alcohol is a great way to relax... but since you're still underaged I didn't say that and I also didn't mention that boxed wine works the fastest to loosen you up.  :)

I bought some stuff from WalMart (a really cute matching bra and panties set) and then I had a few outfits that I put together from what I had lying around- like a denim mini shirt and cowboy hat.  There really is no need to spend a ton of money for outfits.  One girl this weekend just wore a pair of panties and her husband's favorite tie!  Cheap but VERY sexy!

For poses your photog should be able to guide you into the poses that work for your body type.

Yes, I will do it again.  As soon as possible.  They are addicting.  :)

They key is to find someone you are comfortable with.  Also find a photographer willing to let you bring a friend so you can have someone there to support you and help keep you calm.  Also bring music you can listen to.  Most importantly- relax and have fun!  Goof around and be silly and you'll rock it!

  • I also went to Lynn Dao for my session. She was amazing. I was really nervous and had planned all along to creatively hide things...so I was never fully showing anything. When I got there she offered me a glass of wine and I also had my hair and makeup done through her friend Erica Kontz. Once I had my hair and makeup done and a little wine in me, I felt soooo sexy.

I went with 3 outfits and I got ideas from googling pictures and pulling from my DH's fave things,i.e. panties, poker chips, and playing cards (he's a huge poker player) as well as boy shorts that I ironed on his favorite sport's teams logo and a baseball cap.

He LOVED them. There were a wedding gift to him and he was sooo surprised. It was probably the first thing he commented to me about right after the ceremony. He still looks at them all the time.

Lynn made me feel so beautiful and empowered that by the end I was full-on flashing the camera. I felt so good. I recommend them to ALL my friends. I also think it would be an awesome 1st anniversary gift-paper. :)

  • I did them as DH's wedding present. I did them with the photographer that did our engagement pictures so I was already comfortable with her. I went the cute route with more cute underwear then sexy and she did it very tastefully.

He LOVED the pictures. Especially since one of my poses was in jeans and a bra(his favorite outfit lol) and one in his Charger's jerseys with cute football socks.

If you're worried about feeling uncomfortable, try out on the the photographers in the area that specifically does boudoir pictures because they'll be able to put you at ease. I know one in the area, can't think of the name off the top of my head but I can find it, offers you a glass of wine or bubbly for you to be able to relax  and get comfortable. It's really not all that awkward when you forget about the person behind the camera and just think about your hubby.
