Anyone in southern Vermont?
DH and I just moved to southwestern VT. Anyone in the Bennington/Manchester area? I don't know too many people here and am looking for some local opinions on stuff to do, where to go, etc.
Thanks!
Re: Anyone in southern Vermont?
Bennington - Madison Brewery has great food and beer - I used to work there and met my DH there so we have a fond love for Madisons. Try the 76 if you like darker beer - sooo good! Carmody's across the street is good too, they are a New Englandy - sports bar. The Apple Barn is fun for apple, cider, maple syrup and pumpkins. Hemings Apple Orchard for picking apples and pumpkins, hot cider, etc.
Manchester - ditto previous post, Candeleros is good and the outlets are cute to walk around on the weekends. The Hildene is really pretty in the fall. The Equinox is good for a splurge on dinner and to hike up to the pond behind the Inn.
Wilmington isnt too far from Bennington and is cute to walk around shops and restaurants.
All the ski resorts are really pretty in the fall - we were married at Stratton Mountain which isnt too much further past Manchester. You can either hike up the mountain or take the gondala up and its a really pretty view when the leaves are changing. There are places at the top for coffee/ lunch.
Where did you move from? If you haven't explored much of Vermont - a weekend trip to Burlington is a must. Super cute and great breweries!
