T&P Please :(

So, remember how I said in my post below that if Leo's hip bones started to show, it would be time? Well, thats starting to happen.

We just don't know what to do. We're going to give it a couple more weeks with the larger dose of the supplement, but he's getting worse and we adjusted it the last time I posted. I don't think its working.

I want to take him to the coast one last time, and even though it will make him have the runs, I want him to get a day when he can eat all of his favorite foods from before he got sick: his lamb shanks, big raw juicy steaks and salmon strips.

When its over, I will take his ashes back to PA with me, and go to our old favorite hiking spot. Theres a river there he loved to swim in with his dog freinds.  Sadly, another GSD is also there-he succumbed to hip dysplasia a few years ago. They were great friends.

He is my first baby.  This will be so hard. 

I really don't think we will have another dog for a long, long time. I can't do this again.

I deleted my 'full disclosure' post. I feel bad for ever feeling that way, seeing him suffer again. I'm just going to keep it in perspective that he might be gone soon, and that I need to make his last weeks the best they can be.
