Tasteful Bachelorette Party Ideas

Hi ladies! I am a bridesmaid in a wedding in November and I'm in charge of planning and organizing the bachelorette party (MOH is her older sister who lives way out of town). Anyway, we aren't doing a typical drunken party, she made it very clear she just wants a very nice dinner out with the girls followed by drinks at the more upscale bars in the area. So that means no pen!s items and none of the usual dirty games or games involving other men. Has anyone else planned a more "clean" bachelorette party before? I still want to have fun things to do, but for some reason I keep thinking of inappropriate ones.

TIA!!!

Re: Tasteful Bachelorette Party Ideas

  • I did.  We just did what the bride asked for - the girls took me out to dinner at a nice restaurant and then we barhopped and had a great time dancing.

    A group of grown women can certainly go out to dinner and out to bars without gimmicks or games.  In fact, I've never been to a raunchy bachelorette - they've all been like what I described above.

  • I had a two-night bachelorette, and the first night was low-key.

    My cousin (one of the hostesses) called my H beforehand and asked him 20 questions. To start the game (a version of Chubby Bunny), I had to leave and they all decided how many of his answers I'd match correctly.

    I then came back in and if I got it wrong, I had to put a piece of gum in my mouth (you could also do marshmallows). I got more wrong than I thought.

    The questions ranged from what is his favorite food, to our favorite TV show, to our first date venue, etc. It wasn't raunchy, but it was funny to see so much gum in my mouth. The girl who got the closest number of matches won a prize.

  • If you want to make it "stand-out" as a Bachelorette Party without being raunchy, you can always go for something like mardi gras beads (we did pink for mine, and black and silver at one I recently attended) for all the girls to wear. If you can afford it, you can book a limo to drive you from place to place so no one has to be DD.

  • For my bachelorette, we went to a place to make jewelry, had pizza, then went out to a dessert place (Finale's), and then went out for a few drinks...It was fun...I've also been to other bachelorette parties where we went to a bridal comedy show, out to dinner, etc.  Enjoy!
  • Thanks for the tips ladies!!

  • For my bachelorette party, we went bowling, then dancing. The girls decided to do a neon theme (we went glow-bowling), so they had previously decorated white tshirts in glow-in the dark fabric paint, and I wore a white dress, and my mom's old veil. Nothing raunchy, we were clearly a group, and had a fantastic time.

  • ::new here, so HI!::

    for my bach party i didn't want the raunchiness either. everyone was encouraged to wear some sort of hat or headpiece - it was fun, somewhat unique, and didn't require too much work. then we went to a local restaurant and out to the bars...i think as long as you aren't carrying around a huge blown up penis with a sash that says "bachelorette" you can do whatever you want without drawing too much attention. :)

  • For my Bachelorette Party we went into Chicago and did a dinner yacht on the river and just danced there on the yacht. What if you went out to dinner and went bar hopping or go to a movie? There are also some places that offer different theme parties for bachelorette parties. One idea that I thought about was a ballroom dance or salsa dance lesson or you could do a pole dancing lesson or go out to spa before dinner to get nails done or get facials. You could also after dinner just do drinks and movies at someone's house. The possibilities are open depending on where everyone lives, what people can spend, and the area you live, but hopefully this gives you some ideas.

  • For my party we went to Logan's for a nice dinner, then spent the rest of the night at The Melting Pot (Fondue Restaurant). We had a few girls underage so that way whoever wanted to drink could but the girls could all still hang out. We had a blast!
  • I'm currently planning one of these for my friend.  Because she's inviting her mom, some of her mom's friends and her FMIL and some other older adults she doesn't want the party to get out of hand with the pen!ses.

    We're currently planning a nice dinner out at a local resturant.  Her party is over a major city celebration so we are going into town to celebrate (drink) and then eventually make it down to the bars.  She did still want the sucker bouquets and leis to sell.
