Totally on a whim here...

MA girl here (I'm actually a RI Nestie who lives in MA) and my 5th anniversary's coming up next Memorial Day (5/29).  DH has been talking about VT and how he's never been.  I've been, but nothing to speak of really (I think I went to a water park there as a teen).  I know this is a very broad question...but can you suggest any B&B's for us to stay?  I'd like to surprise him with a long weekend getaway.  I'd appreciate any suggestions or feedback you can possibly give me.

TIA!!

Re: Totally on a whim here...

  • There is no water park in VT... I think you're thinking of Lake George NY
  • BTW, we do get asked this question a lot... it may be faster for you to look through older posts for ideas :)
  • Never been to NY (except layovers at the airport) so it was probably NH I was thinking of.  I was young, so I must have gotten my location screwed up.  I'll search the older posts, thanks.

  • Romantic getaway for two... I would say Stowe with day trips into Burlington. There are ton of great places to stay in Stowe. try Gostowe.com?

  • Depends what you are looking for.  Stowe is good...if you want to be more central, I've heard great things about the Willard Street Inn in Burlington.  (I would lean more towrd staying in Burlington and taking a day trip to Stowe and maybe another to the Islands (Grand Isle, South Hero)...and then of course a couple of days explorinig Burlington itself.

  • If your from MA, SoVT is probably  closest.  I agree that reluctant panther is great, as is the Landgrove Inn and West Mountain Inn (my friend is the bartender and my mom was married there, it's incredibly romantic)

    Have fun!
