Re: Ten Things Tuesday

    1. As much as I want to (we need the money) I don't think I am going to be able to work from home...the kiddos are down to 15 to 20 minute naps Indifferent.
    2. Re: #1, it is okay though, I like teaching them things...one day C is going to come home and they will be doing the Electric Slide (and/or the Chicken Dance)...LOL!
    3. At this very moment I have two beautiful kiddos staring at me....tummies full.
    4. I almost dropped our DD on Sunday...I took for granted that she can hold her back straight (she is barely learning). Thank God I had quick reflexes.
    5. Re: #4, DD paid me back yesterday at the doctor's office...she pooped all over my leg...Ick!.
    6. Our DD (i.e. our Little Insomniac) has impeccable timing...I wish she would stop messing with my *game* Wink.
    7. My oldest should be here for a two week break in October...I can't wait!
    8. I think DD is getting sleepy...come on DS!
    9. C is a lifesaver, she got the pharmacist to run the kiddos prescription out to me instead of me having to unload the kids on a very busy street.
    10. Uh-oh, two red faces and grunting sounds...I am glad I made it to ten...off to the changing table Yes.

  • I'm new here, could you explain what we're supposed to post about? I feel silly even asking!
    Anniversary
  • 1. I got a call at 10:30am that Carter was whacked in the head with a wooden rolling pin that was thrown by another kid. They thought he needed stitches and wanted me to get him seen by a doc. Lucky for me, I work with a bunch of them. I picked him up, took him to work, and had one of the pediatricians assess him. He didn't need them (whew) and it was a free consultation. ;) He hung out at work with me until 2:30 and fell asleep on the way home. He still sleeping on the couch.

    2. As soon as he wakes, he really needs a bath. He has dried blood in his blond hair which looks stunning and he stinks.

    3. I really want to go swimming since I am home early, but can't b/c of his head. The doc said he could go to the pool tomorrow, but not today.

    4. Since I am home early, I'd happily make dinner. That is if we actually
    had something to make.

    5. I am pretty sure I can never change jobs. Last week I was out with a sick Grayson and today I barely worked between going to pick up Carter and having him at work with me.  They are very understanding.

     6. L got sun poisoning this weekend. We remembered to sunblock the kids - but not ourselves. 2+ hours in the pool at the peak of sun hours, did not go well.

    7.  I wonder why I didn't nap when I got home. Carter woke at 5:10am coughing and I never went back to sleep.

    8.  I am craving Pei-Wei

    9.  We got progress reports from the kids swimming teacher yesterday that says Gray is doing really well in swimming (going under, etc) and that Carter doesn't have the self confidence and gets discouraged when he sees Gray doing it and he can't. Makes me sad.

    10.  I forsee Carter waking momentarily since the community landscaping people are out there now mowing. Oh well.

  • 1. Big changes next week.  Big, big, changes.

    2. I've been hungry all day.  Nothing seems to be filling my belly.

    3. Physical therapy has been a relaxing hour away from baby/home/work.  I'm going to miss it.

    4.  Jelly Bean is sitting in her chair next to my desk talking to herself. The days she entertains herself (for the last 30minutes of my work day) are so nice.

    5. The days JB doesn't entertain herself make me feel like a bad employee.

    6.  My dogs deserve a good walk tonight.

    7. The place K is going doesn't look that bad....well...at least in terms of food and shopping.

    8. I realize I have no grasp as to just how big of an understatement #1 is.

    9. Apparently my child is hungry too, she is gumming my arms as I type.

    10. Off to feed the baby and myself :-)

  • 1. I can't stand people who never seem to be satisfied with anything.  My CW is a chronic complainer.  I don't know how much more I can take before the I tell her to STFU. [Sidenote: I would never actually say that]

    2. We got an email today about a merger.  There won't be any considerations of layoffs or pay cuts for 3 years, thankfully. I have an escape-plan job offer standing with my old employer, but I would rather not move back south.

    3. My MIL is crazy (in a loony kind of way that you can deal with, not in a crazy omg we need to cut all ties with her kind of way).  I'm so glad that DW stands up to her and doesn't put up with her BS.

    4. Sheetz is my new breakfast and lunch addiction.  I wish we had them in Philly.

    5. I think this country needs more financial literacy initiatives.

    6. My dad is making me angry.  He needs to stop treating my sister (she's a teenager) like she is a burden.

    7. I'm already excited for the weekend even though we don't have any plans yet.

    8. It always takes me forever to get through TTT.

    9. I slept like a rock last night.  As a result, I actually felt awake when I was supposed to wake up.

    10. I kind of want to watch Office Space.

ETA: I'm adding a #11.  On the way home from work: Crazy lady to my right going about 10 in a 50 with no signal switched to my lane and decided to slow down more with about a car length between us.  Thankfully I was going 45 and paying close attention (because I was thinking why the F is she going 10 in a 50). I'm thankful that I was able to slam on brakes and stop in time!

  • 1. Stressing out and being irritated at the parents of the 1 year old boy who I nanny for. They're switching him from formula to milk cold turkey and are putting the responsibility on me to do so. It's hard because at home he is ignored and with me he's got structure, a schedule, and lots of lovin'.

    2.  My sweet puppies snuggling on my lap right now, they make my days so great!

    3. Reading The Nanny Diaries and cracking up.

    4. Really wanting to start a family. My wife and I both want to have a baby, but we're waiting for her promotion to happen. Until then, I'll be on thebump.com researching and being jealous!

    5. My wife's Dad and his girlfriend are coming to visit at the beginning of next month, I know I'm going to be crazily cleaning.

    6. What to make for dinner...

    7. I really need to get my butt downstairs to the workout center... we'll see if that happens.

    8. Feeling kind of down about working from home, it's hard not getting as much human interaction as I'm used to.

    9. Craigslist! I find way too many things I want, but nothing that I really need.

    10. My younger sister's 16th birthday is tomorrow!

    Anniversary
  • 1. We might be moving the bakery into a commercial space sooner that I had imagined! Big Smile

    2. We took DD to 2 museums today, she loved the Nature Lab at the second one.

    3. I am thinking of doing a half marathon in November, not sure if I have enough time to train for it but I hope so.

    4. I can't pick zuchinni fast enough, they are bigger than my forearm by the time I get to them.

    5. Same thing with the tomatoes, I can easily pick more than 5 lbs everyday.

    6. And 2 of our hens are laying eggs.

    7. DD starts school next week and I am unprepared, I don't know what classroom she is in or what supplies she needs.

    8. Just called the school and found out the class list gets posted at 4pm the day before school starts.  Supply list will be sent home on the first day of school. Phew.

    9. It's only 99 degrees today, I'm loving it.

    10. DW is going into a management position very soon, YAY!

  • 1. Staying with my parents hasn't been as bad as I thought it might be!

    2. We close on our house on Friday and I am SO EXCITED but also worried that something will still go wrong.

    3. I am soo tired of writing applications, and there is no end in sight.

    4. I just saw something that made me change my mind about #1 :-/

    5. I miss my doggies :(  My parents didn't want them so they've been kenneled for three weeks! Poor babies.

    6. Anyone need a full time tutor for their child in Indianapolis?  ;-)

    7. I would like an Oreo.  Or seven.

    8. Did I mention that the house we're buying is right down the street from my brother, SIL, and niece?  It's SO close.  It will be really cool for our kids and nieces/nephews to have cousins so close.

    9. I just found out one of my favorite kiddos isn't coming back to preschool because her mom can't get rid of her lice :(

    10. Another one of my kids pooped on himself three times today.  What's up with that?!

  • 1. Lots to do this week! Dinner at a drag/burlesque club tomorrow with friends, driving to Milwaukee for the day Thursday, WNBA basketball game (and Gay Days at the Arena!) on Friday, then driving BACK to Milwaukee on Saturday to Sunday for a friend's birthday party! Whew! All that with working too!

    2. My gyne recommended an HSG test over the next couple of weeks. I'm not looking forward to it.

    3. Still waiting on my cycle to see if IUI round #2 worked.

    4. RE: #3, I don't think it did. I feel period-y.

    5. Just a couple of weeks to our first anniversary! I can't wait, my wife is the best :)

    6. DW starts a year long internship at a new church in a few weeks, and is looking at 50-60 hour workweeks. Ew.

    7. I would LOVE to go on a big vacation. This time last year, I still had our wedding and a great weeklong vacation to Mexico to look forward to. This year... just Chicago winters, lol.

    8. My best friend is pregnant. She wants to talk to me about all sorts of pregnancy things. I don't so much want to talk about them, but I'm a good pretender.

    9. I can't WAIT to go to the Harry Potter island at Islands of Adventure in October!!!!

    10. I also can't wait for Margaret Cho in October. That will be a big month too :)

  • 11. I got my Pei-Wei for dinner. :)

    12. I have no idea what got into the kids tonight, At one point, they were both having major tantrums and L and I just looked at each other like, "what the hell is going on?"  It was like we had reverted back two years and we were looking at what our lives used to be. I didn't miss it.

    13. You know when we did the poll that had, "would you let your kids sleep in their clothes?" and I answered no. Well, nix that. I relented to letting Gray sleep in the shirt he wore today. It really wasn't worth the battle tonight. We had bigger things to battle.

  • 1) How did i miss this yesterday? ::shrug::

    2) I'll be in FL for work the rest of the week and as i was saying goodbye to Sprout this morning he said, "bye bye mommy, i'll love you! I mean, i'll miss you!"  it was so freaking cute. i hate leaving them.

    3) But, as much as I hate leaving them, travelling is a bit of a treat.  I get to sleep through the night, enjoy nice leisurely dinners, and only have to dress myself in the morning.

    4) Sprout's been going to soccer camp this week and i'll tell you, there is nothing more hysterical than a bunch of 3 and 4 year olds learning how to play soccer.  Half of them are picking clovers in the field, a couple are laying down, and maybe one or two are paying attention to the coach at any given time.  and they take 10 water breaks an hour.

    5) when in the world did i get old enough to have a kid in soccer camp?? for some reason, its all been very surreal.

    6) Rosebud has a nasty cough...she caught the cold from me :(  I hope DW doesnt have to deal w/ a sick baby on top of me being gone.

    7) I'm so ready for another baby. you hear that world? SO READY.

    8) i'm looking forward to a mellow weekend.

    9) poor DW got stuck in an hour of traffic this morning (as opposed to her usual 10 minute commute),  but she was one of the lucky ones that they let reverse off the highway since she was still on the ramp. I can only imagine how much longer the others will have to wait.

    10) off to pack!

  • 1. Missed this yesterday! Was packing and then Henry had a Dr's appt

    2. Packing for our road trip...  We are going to Harrisburg to visit C's family.  Henry Logan will get to meet his Uncle Logan at last!

    3. Yes, I am a little nervous about a road trip with a 2.5 month old.

    4. Yes, I have lists out the wazoo and have been strategizing for days.

    5. Yes, I yelled at my wife when she asked if she could bring her golf clubs.  GOLF CLUBS??? I AM TRYING TO PACK LIGHT!! THERE IS NO ROOM!!! LOL

    6. The travelling shouldn't be too bad though, we are breaking up the drive with hotel stays both ways, so we won't have more than about 3 hours worth of driving to do at a time.

    7. I'm more worried about keeping Henry in his rhythm while staying with my IL's.  When they visited last month, it was um...challenging. Big Smile

    8. I ordered some new diapers for Henry that I am hoping will arrive tomorrow so we can bring them with us!

    9. About that Dr's appt..  We have a giant child.  He weighs 14lbs 11oz, and is 25 inches tall.  Our pedi delighted in telling us that is the size of an average 5 month old.

    10. Okay, more to do before the munchkin wakes up from his nap!
