For the past month or so I have been REALLY tired. It's impossible for me to drag myself out of bed in the mornings, I've been falling asleep at work, etc. I usually get about 8 hours of sleep a day, plus I sleep in really late on the weekends, but I can't seem to catch up. I've always needed a lot of sleep but this seems ridiculous. I'm even thinking about cutting out of work early today just so I can go home and take a nap.
I know my iron levels are good, and my vitamin D is fine. I had my thyroid levels checked a couple years ago and it was fine....maybe I should have it checked again. Part of the problem I think is that I've been waking up a lot during the night because it's so light out. We have blackout shades but light still seeps in around the edges and shines right in my face. I'm hoping to put up some curtains and that will help.
Any other suggestions?
Re: So TIRED.
I hate to state the obvious, but...
When was the first day of your last AF?
Could there be a mini-Alaskan coming?
?
Um, negatory. Just finished up with AF.

Since I'm so BNOTB...I wasn't even thinking like Fanny..
Try taking Melatonin maybe? It works for me. AND I sometimes wear those eye cover things... it really does help.
I thought of this also.
Getting curtains to block out all of the light will probably help. I wonder if you need some sort of sleep aid to help you stay asleep? My FIL takes something, I don't know what it's called, but he doesn't have a problem falling asleep, his problem is staying asleep. So he takes something OOT that just helps him stay asleep longer. I think it's Simply Sleep.
ok, idea #1 fail,
Idea #2 - I sleep with eye mask - maybe you can do the same?
?
Not that I'm professional sleep doctor or anything
but I could definitely see the daylight at night in Alaska being the culprit. But you have lived there your whole life, right?
Do you nap a lot? In high school and college I used to nap all the time. And I would always feel even more tired afterwards. I finally was able to break the cycle and felt much better. Now I rarely nap. Maybe once or twice a month on a Saturday or Sunday.
