Does anyone know about these?
I have the idea to dry out sweet potatoes to give my dog as chews and apples and other fruit to have my own (unprocessed) dried fruit.
Am I on the right track?
Re: Food dehydrators?
I don't have a dehydrator but I do the sweet potato thing all the time for my dogs (because it's so expensive to buy a bag of Sam's Yams). I get 2 big sweet potatoes and slice them about 1/4 inch thick and put them in the oven on 200 for 3-4 hours. It works perfectly and then I put them in a ziplock bag and use them for treats!
I'd imagine that you could do it with other fruit as well..if you did it with apples, don't forget the lemon juice first to keep it from browning!
No way!
That is really helpful. I'm going to try this!
Yes, the Sam's Yams are so overpriced!
