Appetizer ideas for Bachelorette Party
My BFF is having a bachelorette party in a couple of weeks. I am in charge of appetizers and seeing as I am new to cooking, I was wondering if anyone had some yummy recipes. It is being held outside with a lot of lake activities if that makes any difference. I appreciate any ideas.
Re: Appetizer ideas for Bachelorette Party
Fruit kabobs and dip, brushetta, stuffed mushrooms, veggies and dip, cheese and crackers.
Since you're a novice cook and it's outdoors, I wouldn't go for anything complicated. You have to have things that can stand up to heat and neglect. (Outdoor bachelorette in NO in August? OMG!)
Fruit salad, chips & salsa/cowboy caviar, mixed nuts. I would say veggies & dip, but all the dips I can think of are dairy based. Even cheese can't sit out in that kind of heat. Does hummus have to be refrigerated?

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
I also would do a cowboy caviar -not only will it hold up it the heat, but it is super simple! I love this recipe:

Scroll down and you will find it. The most important part is to follow the directions that she describes for adding the olive oil. I think that it really does make a big difference in the taste.
She also has some rosemary candied nuts - those might be fun too - something a little different.
I did quick google search and looks like you could have hummus, if you didn't leave it out too long. If you were really worried about it, you could put it in a smaller bowl, fill a larger bowl with ice and then put the hummus bowl in it.
GL! Let us know what you decide. :-)
