How often do you clean your fridge?

Okay, so DH and I did some major cleaning this weekend which included cleaning behind the fridge as well as throwing things out of the fridge. It got me thinking that I don't think we had cleaned behind the fridge in over a year! How often do you clean stuff like this? Does anybody have a chore list that they actually use to get these things done?

things like that don't get cleaned very often. i'd say a couple times a year i will wipe out the whole thing. but i will spot clean and toss stuff as needed in between.

I usually spot clean as needed and throw things out of the fridge about once a week so nothing gets moldy.  My MIL has so many moldy items in her fridge, DH hates trying to go into her fridge when he's there, so he's very appreciative that I clear it out on a regular basis.  But we also just moved into our house 8 months ago, and did apartments before that, so the fridge got cleaned once a year, during move out.

I vacuum the front grill & around the sides of the fridge at least once a month. I pull it out & clean once or twice a year.

I do the FlyLady routine, which prettymuch covers a lot of monthly & daily cleaning chores (thanks to her, I clean the inside & front of my fridge monthly), but if you google phrases like "yearly home maintenance" you'll find lots of good checklists like this that cover things like cleaning your AC coils, re-sealing your deck, & other things that only need to be done seasonally.

I don't clean fridges. I just buy new ones. It kind of sucks b/c when we buy a new fridge we have to stop using dollar bills as toilet paper for a month since we have to use the $ for the fridge, but what can you do?

We wipe down little spills and clean out leftover crap pretty regularly, but I only ever take all the shelves and drawers apart and really clean it like once a year.  *blush* I should do it more often because last time it took me 3 hours!

Let's just say I don't do it often enough.  But I do wipe down the stainless when company comes over so it looks pretty on the outside!

You can over over to our place as well.  We do it once in awhile, but probably not as often as we should.
