I saw you comment in another post so I wanted to check and see how everything was going. Any idea when you will be back home? How is your son doing?
Re: Captain
Everything's going great, thanks for asking! We applied for his visa yesterday, and are hoping his medical results get to the embassy soon so we can schedule our interviews (the last step before they issue the visa). So right now, we're just waiting around hoping the phone will ring. We're expecting to return home sometime next week!
M is adjusting well. Right now it's sometimes tough because of the language barrier and the fact that he doesn't have space to run around, other kids to play with, or much of an idea of how to entertain himself without us. My husband is working some from the apartment now, and it's tough to keep M busy all day without using tv or the computer (he's limited to 30 minutes a day of English-only videos). For that reason, among others, I can't wait until we return home where he will have more space, a few more toys and books, and be completely surrounded by English.
He's a great kid--probably the most compastionate person I have ever met. He's constantly thinking of others and is very caring and giving. He loves to help out around the apartment and is very well behaved. He's very loving, and just an all-around sweetie. We are so lucky to have him as our son!

Not entirely, Cali. He's still having some nightmares and is always asking about when we will leave. When I mentioned something about packing the other day, he wanted to know if it was because we were leaving that day or the next. I don't think he will be totally secure about it until we're home for a little bit.
But he is getting more secure when one of us isn't around. Now we can take shifts with him in the morning or evening or one of us can go out with him, and he's not worried that the other won't be there when we return. So it's getting better.

I am so happy for you CS. These updates are wonderful!
Just curious, does this mean it will be a while before you can both leave him at the same time? Do you both work? How will that go when you get back home?

Well I am full blown crying. Captain, are you going to share some family pictures once home?
