Road Trip

I am planning a road trip to in the next few weeks and I have only been to New Hampshire a few times. Where are some places that are a must see while I am in the state?

Re: Road Trip

  • Depends on what you like to do!

There is a great outlet mall in Tilton NH (hint, NH is sales tax free)

If you like to nature, there is Franconia Notch State Park

Visit the NH website fro more ideas.

    HTH!

  • If you're interested in hiking but not much of a hiker, I would suggest Mt Willard in Crawford State Park for a taste of the Whites or go to Mt. Monadnock in southwestern part of the state.

Portsmouth downtown is very nice for shops and restaurants. You can also walk through the Strawberry Banke area for the historical perspective.

Franconia Notch has several easy hikes/visiting areas just off the highway.  The Loon Mtn area/Jackson is nice for shopping as well. Drive up the scenic Kangamangus highway.

I could suggest more, but, really, it depends on what types of activities you want to do.

  • Hi! not sure I'm too late in posting this and you've already been to NH...

If you haven't left yet, and you haven't been to Nashua before, Main Street in Nashua is really cute. The nice part of Main St. is only about a 1/2 mile long... it has a bunch of cute little stores, restaurants etc...

A few that I would recommend if you happen to stop by:

Swan Chocolates - a local handmade chocolate shop that is AMAZING!

Michael Timothy's and Surf Restaurants - both owned by award winning chef Michael Buckley.. a little pricey but totally worth it..

and then, just off Main street, on the north side, across the street from Dunkin's there's a street called Franklin Street and there is an awesome cafe hidden on the left side called "Bonhoeffer's Cafe". It?s a non-profit cafe in a restored mill building right behind the church that faces Main street.. It?s absolutely beautiful inside and I would highly recommend it! (We had our reception there!)

Hope that helps! Have a great trip!!
