Need brainstorming ideas please :)

DH is turning 30...on Dec 22nd.  I would love to plan something fun for him, but I have no idea what.  I have been slowly saving money for this and by his birthday I hope to have about $500 to spend on it.

Since his Bday is during the week, I was thinking I could plan something for him and his friends for the weekend before.  I would have loved to get him a party suite for a game or something but it's thousands- thats insane.  The college football schedule isnt out yet to check for that.  I was also thinking about booking 2 rooms at a local casino for one night-just the guys.

For his actual birthday, we will do something with family Im sure.

DH doesnt like attention on himself, and doesnt like surprise parties.

Sooo, any other ideas or thoughts?

  • I like the casino idea!

DH and I both turn 30 this winter, and we're thinking of getting a group together to do cosmic bowling and laser tag to celebrate.

What does your DH and his friends like to do for fun?

They go to games (very seldom), watch sports, play sports, road trips, rent a cabin (smoke cigars, hunt, hot tub).

They dont get to have a lot of "guy time" bc some of the other guys wives/GFs dont let them go out.  This is the reason I wanted to do a guys night-no wives/gfs!

  • The casino thing sounds fun. Or renting a cabin for the boys?

  • I think  you'd score majah good wife points if you planned a guys night. Just be sure to keep some of the money to do something just the two of you. ;)
  • I like the casino idea. I agree with Tiff make sure to save some money for you 2 to celebrate.

Thanks :)  I would probably just take DH out to dinner just him and I, since his gift would be the guys night- or is that lame as a gift?
