Chicago Nesties
Dear Community,
Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Thank you.
Note: This only affects The Nest's community members and will not affect members on The Bump or The Knot.
So my husband and I have very, very little money, but we'd still like to go on dates around the city. Anyone have any suggestions? We like music and art and history and basically anything that qualifies as interesting...
Thanks a much!
Re: Free Date Ideas?
One of my friends gave me this link:

My understanding is that you can do the dates for very little cost - if not, free. I haven't read through them yet because you are suppose to read them as you go and we haven't started them yet. I do know that #3 can be done at home.
Where in the western burbs are you?
There are tons of hiking and biking trails all over. Or even fishing.
There is a farmer's market/art fair in Roselle on Saturday mornings you can check out & walk around.
Does your town have a community pool? We are in Hanover Park and our community pool is like a mini water park and only $6 admission (I think) pp.
You could always go into the city: lincoln park zoo, millenium park, fireworks at navy pier, go to a street festival, etc.
I am not sure if they do it anymore but the chicago public libraries used to have passes to the museums. It was free admission for 2 adults and like 4 kids.
Also I would sign up with groupon.com if you are not already. DH & I are having a date night soon for $10 with improv tickets I bought off there.
Oak Park is so cute! Have you been downtown and done everything there? There are Frank Llyod Wright home tours, great resturants, a beautiful park, etc.
You also are not far from Forest Park which is another cute area to walk around. They usually have some kind of event going on on the weekends too!
Also, street festivals are always free to walk around! Tis the season right now!
