I hate to ask

b/c I love my friend who usually cuts my hair, but I don't see us getting together soon enough for my desires for something different.

Please give me your hair stylist recs.

My hair is wavy/curly, but it straightens easily. It's not thick and I don't intend to color it. I also want to be sure that whoever cuts it listens and won't go overboard with shortness or super crazy layers.

OH, and very importantly, I really don't wish to drop $80 for just a cut (If I was going to have some sort of color done I'd be fine with the higher $$).

 

Edit: Duh, I prefer to stay in the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody/Roswell/Alpharetta area. TIA!

I love Piper at Van Michael in Sandy Springs. She's about $50. I'll usually tip $5-7 on top of that.

Have you tried the hair school in Marietta, by the Big Chicken? I know it makes some people nervous, but they actually do a great job. They need to get permission before they color your hair in anyway and the teacher has to approve how they are going to cut/style your hair. Not to mention - it's about a fraction of the cost of big location. I'm from NJ and couldn't find a hair dresser I liked down here and I always go there now - it's a different person each time but they do a GREAT job. GL!
