My grandparents have done this before, a couple of times. It seems cool to do but not sure about doing it in the summer since it's so hot.

I know...it's still sad. Look at that pig in the link you posted. It has no eyes. It's GROSS!!! I don't think I could eat any animal that looked like it's original form still when I was cooking it. EW!

I went to one in CT a couple years ago, and it was sooooo fun. Then I read that blog post, and it just seems like a great event to host (once the house is totally finished).

My mom and her family are all originally from Hawaii and her uncle once he moved to San Diego and had a "pig rosting" pit in the back to have traditional luau's i was never a fan of seeing the pig come out of the ground though i always felt bad for it... but if i didn't see it and then it was carved then i was good
