romantic restaurant suggestions please
we tend to go to the same places all the time, and we desperately want to try somewhere new in the city.
thinking of doing a carriage ride up by Water Tower area. So we want a restaurant in that area to walk to. We want someplace that's cozy & romantic (i.e. like the cozy romantic booth cubbies at the Italian village restaurant, something private like that!). We like steaks, seafood & italian. Can you give me some recommendations??
Re: romantic restaurant suggestions please
we've been to Geja's already. I am so intimidated by the number of restaurants online to choose from. I have no clue where they are located, in what neighborhoods, etc.
I really want to park in a garage & be able to just walk around for the night.
So to narrow it down, what are some romantic restaurants near where the carriage rides are? What neighborhood is that called, too? What else do you recommend we do afterwards? Where to get a drink somewhere that plays good music (90's hip hop, pop, current, et)? We're not shi-shi martini people, but rather casual beer people We're uncomfortable in bars that are shi-shi and everyone's super dressed up. This isn't the date night for that, something a little less fancy is good.
throw some more suggestions my way
The area is called Streeterville...it's not really a beer area, more a $12 martini area with a lot of peroxide blonds in overly trendy clothes. The less "dressy" places tend to cater to tourists, so not very romantic.
I've enjoyed Bistro 110, which is right where some of the carriage stands are. It's French food and I don't believe there are booths, but it strikes the right note between nice food/atmosphere and not being pretentious.
There's also a place I saw on Check Please called something East, like 200 East I think. It's on 200 (or whatever number) E. Chestnut, I think.
Afterwards, if you're young/brave enough, you could hit the Clark/Division area where there's the Alumni Club, Mother's, etc. I think they have the kind of music/scene you're looking for though it's a complete meat market.
