Need opinions please (work related)

Hi girls,

So I have a business/website related question. I need your opinions. So, I'm just about done with my website.  Most of you know what kind of website I would have (I think.)  I started building another website strictly for the boudoir stuff. Because it's on my last nerve I'm ready to just put the boudoir stuff along with the rest of the stuff (family, kids, etc.)  I'm worried that some people might be offended by the boudoir stuff. What do you think?

Option 1... suck it up and keep trying to build the Boudoir site

Option 2... add the Boudoir stuff to the rest of it on the main site

Re: Need opinions please (work related)

  • I like option 2.

Little kiddos are not surfing that *type* of site anyway.  Ppl researching/surfing/shopping those sites are mature adults.  And your boudoir sessions seem very tasteful, based on what I've seen on FB.

  • ok so do you remember that Brandis Allison girl, i think on her website she has like seperate sections, maybe do something like that on just the one main webiste.  If people don't want to see the Boudoir stuff they don't have to click on that section of the site =)

  • I would include it in your website as it's own section...i.e...

    Engagement

    Weddings

    Babies

    Families

    Boudoir

     Just put a disclaimer

  • Build the Boudoir site, if you are going to do fam/kids I wouldn't want that on there.

    I like this idea.

  • as of right now there ARE different sections for each "subject." I was thinking of adding "Boudoir" as one of the sections, but like Christina says, I don't want to offend anyone.

I'm thinking I'll just put it up on the main site for now until I can figure out how to build the new one.  I hope it doesn't "hurt" me.

    Thanks...

Like i get that you are trying to do business and all but if people see a tab that say Boudoir, then they know what it means and of they think it might offen them the shouldn't click on it... Maybe i would be bad as a business owner but i mean i have clicked on things that i think might offend me and then when it does i just think to myself "well i shouldn't have clicke on it in the first place since i thought it would offend me"

I think it will be fine, and if people complain about it then maybe make another site...

I don't know if it will "offend" many people. I like the idea of putting a disclaimer   (maybe an enter page you know when you first go into the boudoir section)

Also just make sure not to have any b-room pictures on the front page, just incase ya know?

  • I would keep it all on one site and just make sections that way people can see all your work you might get extra business. If its labeled it wouldn't be a big deal.

That would be a great way of keeping it on the site, but making sure it's "clean" for all ages.  If the scroll past your disclaimer, or click to actual pictures...well, then, that's their problem.

I think you'll be fine no matter what you do.  Great photography speaks for itself!  Don't worry about offending people, as long as you aren't putting a huge naked photo on your initial page - you'll be fine :)
