(French) Cheese Plate - need help picking out
I am entertaining this weekend and will be doing a cheese plate. I want it to be a traditional french cheese plate with three different cheeses. However, not sure which ones to pick. I was thinking of getting some sort of soft cheese, a hard cheese and maybe a blue cheese. Any thoughts? I do have a great super market that has a variety of cheeses, so if you have a specific cheese to recommend I would also appreciate your suggestions.

Blue usually makes me think of an american cheese plate, but I think that I just always get the Maytag. I would definitely go with a brie, a creamy goats milk cheese such as a crottin maitre seguin, a morbier comte, and maybe a langres.
I just watched a good eats on cheese and serving it. If you can find it on you tube, it might be helpful.
From what I remember, he said when you serve cheese, you need to serve:
3 of the same kind, but different ages
3 from the same region or
3 of ...darn it. I can't remember.
