Re: Groomsmen Gifts ... what did you give? what was the best received?
mh gave them under armor gym bags & inside was:
personalized yankee jerseys
a bottle of johnny walker blue label
and a yankee ticket and they all went together to see the game.
he spent a lot on them.
DH gave LLBean duffel bags, and we bought them their ties. So far we have seen 3 of the 6 guys re-wear the tie, and the duffel bags were well received.
DH was given a monogrammed lighter and while he really seems to like the idea and think its really nice....I've yet to see him use it other then that night when the guys smoked cigars.
We gave MH's brothers (who were all in their 40's at the time) these cigar sets engraved with their initials -- it had a cutter and a fancy lighter in it.
My brothers (who are much younger) got engraved flasks (also initials). I know they have used them since (for other weddings and/or tailgate parties). Mine was the first wedding my brothers were in since they were only 21and 23 y/o at the time so we figured we could do something more typical and they wouldn't already have it.
Sounds silly, but folding chairs, lol!! We ordered them from the NFLSHOP.com each GM got 2 chairs with their "team" on them.
I don't know what Joh'ns favorite was, but he did get a really awesome pocket knife once. It was apparently pretty expensive and had all sorts of gadgets.
We took our entire bridal party to a broadway show since they were from out of town.
Larry got a personalized swiss army type knife once that he really liked. It was apparently some pricey super cool knife but it looked like a swiss army knife to me.
I've got to say -- this really a great idea! What an unique and useful gift!
DH gave leatherman knife/tool sets with their initials engraved on them.
One of his favorites received was a soft coooler bag that was fileld with each guy's favorite drink. DH was the only non-drinker inthe group, so they all howled when he unzipped his and it was loaded with arizona iced teas. We used the bag as Ava's daycare food bag for a long time too. It was engraved with the bride and groom's names and date on it.
We gave:
a) under the suits, DH had them wear burgundy shirts instead of white so he bought them each the shirt from somewhere nice, Id on't remember. And Kenneth Cole watches. They still wear them.
I don't think he's been in a wedding for a while but one thing he got that we didn't ever use was a camping seat w/ an ipod hookup - that was just weird.
we gave mugs engraved with the guys initials/flasks. and we also gave a personalized gift to each groomsmen. i can't even begin to remember
he's been giving a personalized tap handle for our kegorator (he loves this because it says Gemmell's Homebrew on it and we use it for his home brew obviously) mugs/ties I can't remember what else
i think he gave personalized cuff links or pocket watches, i can't remember for sure.
he was the best man in his cousin's wedding last year and he got a personalized yankees jersey and a pilot's watch. i have no idea what that thing is capable of doing but pete loved them both!
We gave these coolers that you can plug into your cigarette lighter to keep drinks cool for trips. We got them on sale at best buy- this was six years ago. The guys loved them!
cufflinks that matched what they love or what they do
ex my dad got camera cufflinks and mh's friend who is into vegas got dice
We gave monogrammed Tiffany's cufflinks.
MH got a Vineyard Vines polo shirt as a GM gift 2 years ago, and he still wears it.
We gave out poker sets in wooden cases. There was also a plaque on the top which we had their initials engraved on it.
Got it from Things Remembered
My Blog
We gave them all BBQ Tool kits...
MH got a zippo for one wedding which was stupid because no one smoked and another wedding he got a flask which was kind of dumb because honestly - who uses flasks?
We tried to think about what the guys would actually use more than 1 or 2 times per year... they were all in the same age range and they all loved the sets - we got texts from them all the first time they used them, too, lol.
Keep in mind, too, you don't have to get them all the same thing. If one likes golf get golf balls, if one has a 'corporate' job and wears suits a lot - cuff links is a great idea.

We did Mets or Yankees pullovers (depending on team affinity) and had them embroidered with each groomsman's name.
They were a HUGE hit and all of the guys still wear them 5 years later.
