  • I love Emily Giffin. Something Borrowed, Something Blue and others

  • Shiver - Maggie Steifvater

Jessica Darling series - Megan McCafferty

Ender's Game - Orson Scott Card

  • Anything by Nicholas Sparks

    Water for Elephants

    Knit One

    Middlesex

  • Ditto Emily Griffin (btw- did you know they are making Something Borrowed in to a movie?  Kate Hudson and John Krasinski star).  Water for Elephants was amazing (Riding Lessons by the same author was ok), The Art of Racing in the Rain was cute (told from the dog's POV), Plum Skyes has a couple cute chick-lit books, I liked The Other Boleyn Girl better than the movie and I just started on the Slightly series by Wendy Markham.  I've got a ton more, but I'm totally drawing a blank!

  • I also loved Water for Elephants.

    Others I love:

    Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah
The Weight of Silence by Heather Gudenkauf
Pretty much any of Jodi Picoult's books
    Barefoot by Elin Hildebrand
    any of Jen Lancaster's memoirs

That's all I can think of right now.

  • I like Harlan Coben. He writes this great series called the Myron Bolitar series about a sport's agent who's also kind of a private investigator.Harlan Coben  writes characters beautifully and he's still writing this series so you can read what's already been written and then be a dork like me and wait impatiently for the next book to come out.  There are 10+ books so far, I think...

We should totally do some sort of book club since we have so many readers on this board!  I've never been a part of one, so I don't really know how it works but I think it sounds like fun! Anyone ever participate in one?

  • Have fun with the nook! I love my kindle and read so much more now that I have one. If you like the vampirey type books....I have several authors that I've read and enjoyed in a similar genre:

     Patricia Briggs' Mercy Thompson series

    Ilona Andrews' Kate Daniels series

Richelle Mead's Georgina Kincaid series and Vampire Academy series.

    Happy reading!

  • Not sure if this was listed b/c I only skimmed the responses, but the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich is my all time favorite.

I *think* there are 16 or 17 in the series so far, but don't let that intimidate you.  They are very quick, easy reads (I'm talking a day or two per novel), but really funny and enjoyable all the same.

Stephanie Plum is a Jersey girl who becomes a bounty hunter to make ends meet, and she is kind of terrible at it.  .

Janet Evanovich used to be a stand-up comedian, so I always lol when I'm reading her stuff.

She also has individual romance novels that I absolutely love.

I LOVE these books. Did you know that they are making a movie (or have already made...not sure) of them? Not sure if it's just the first one or what, but Katherine Heigl  is playing Stephanie. I thought this was kinda weird. I guess I always imagined her as a Sandra Bullock type character. Oh well..can't wait to see it though.

  • I just finished reading the House of Night series by P.C. Cast & Kristen Cast. Easy vamp reading.

I agree with PP - Coben books are great!
