Anyone belong to a raw milk share program?

I am thinking about joining a raw milk share goat's milk program.  It is $65 to buy your share and then $27/month for a gallon a week.  Is that reasonable? She uses organic methods, but is not certified.  I want to use the milk to make cheese (and drink a little; not much).

  • That sounds pretty good, actually. Ours is $50 a month but I get 3 gallons a week.
  • Ok that is good to know. I don't know what I'd do with 3 gallons a week!  Can you make goat's milk icecream? :)

  • Wow...we need to get our goats and get milkin'!!
  • Oops - I just now noticed you were talking about goat milk. I was referring to cow's milk. For goat, that's a really great price. I looked into it once and it was way more. I would love to be able to make goat cheese. Or soap.
  • That's a really good price.  We looked into a program at our Farmer's Market, and that's a $100 buy-in and $25 a month for a half a gallon a week.  That was wayyyy too expensive just for the occasional yearn to make cheese or soap.
