Hey!
i just saw your response to my post that we are almost neighbors! Where in DG do you live?? Also, do you know where your friend lives in montgomery? It is funny because most people have never heard of montgomery so i usually just say i live in naperville to keep it simple!
Re: **nataliejp**
We live on the very Northeast side of DG. We're about 3/4 of a mile from the downtown. I can't remember my friends exact address, but they are right off of highway 30 near the Dairy Queen. To be honest, I'd never heard of Montgomery until they moved their last year hehe! We've been looking at buying a house/townhouse next spring and they are really affordable there, but I think it would still be too far for me to commute to the train station since I work in the loop.
You didn't grow up in Montgomery, right?
its weird how small of a world it is! i know where the dairy queen is...i visit there frequently
i live about a mile away from rt 30 and orchard, if you know where that is. No i just moved here when DH and I were dating...i grew up in the city so it was hard to change, but i knew it was something I had to do, especially because once we started having kids, I didnt want to raise them in the city.
I work in barrington so it is about an hr commute for me to get to work. Thankfully I am a teacher so I get summers off so I get a break from my long drive! DH actually had a job downtown for about two years and he took the metra and it wasn't too bad. I would either drop him off on my way to work or he parked in the lot (there is a parking lot across the aurora train station that is reasonable). The aurora metra is only about 10 mins from me...so it is definitely doable...so think about it so i can have more friends in montgomery!!
The first time I went to my friends house in Montgomery I was a little too exited that she lived that close to a DQ - haha!
I lived in Barrington from when I was born until age 3. Then we moved to Woodstock where I lived until I went to college. I went to Elmhurst College and lived in both Elmhurst and Lombard during my 4 years there. After college, DH and I moved to the city (Lakeview) for 3.5 years. DH didn't like the city very much so I agreed to move back to the burbs, and we found a place in Downers Grove that was walking distance to the Metra, we only have 1 car and DH takes it to work. He works in Yorktown Mall.
