Allergic to BC

Just curious if anyone had any suggestions. I'm allergic to BCP and we'd like to try and use non-hormonal contraceptives. Condoms don't feel great for either of us. Are there any other options? Has anyone been successful using fertility calendars and/or tracking basal body temperature?

Re: Allergic to BC

  • Pick up a copy of Taking Charge of your Fertility.  Lots of information on the subject.  I didn't go that route, I tried non-hormonal IUD after I was on BCP's which did not work out for me since I had bad reactions.  We found a long term method which now we don't have to worry about BC ever again, one snip that is all ya need.

  • I hated BCP. I hated how they made me feel and I could NEVER remember to take them at the same time everyday. It was impossible for me. I also went for the IUD and love it. I love that I never have to think about it! It's just always there doing it's job. Most people say that an IUD is better after you have at least one child (or at least I heard that from one of my doctors), but I have never had children and still went this route. Love it!
