Jumping Josephine

My kiddo loves the water, and loves jumping. If she sees water she's throwing off her clothes and saying "mommy! Hurry. Put on my baving suit!"

  • She is so cute! I love her gusto as she jumps.

  • Oh my goodness!  Look at her swimming!

I love the water wings/vest combo.  I'm going to have to look into that.  Of course, my kid has an uncontrollable urge to put his face in the water, which then leads to lots of coughing and hacking, which then leads to him looking at me like I just shot his puppy.  He loves it, but swimming with him is a bit exhausting for me.

  • I love when she spits water at J.
BTW -- I think it's obvious it's him talking and not you.  Tell him that his masculinity has not been compromised by his babytalk voice.

  • so cute! and such a good swimmer!
  • Her "Thank you!" killed me dead. So cute.
  • Between this and sleepy Will, I am dying from cuteness today.  Good show!

  • Jo is awesome.  Such a goo little swimmer. The "thank you" was pretty funny, like "I know I am an amazing swimmer, thank you lesser one for noticing"
  • Dude, that is impressive. Will likes the water but is a little concerned about this whole "jump in!" and "put your face in the water!" thing.

  • She's so pretty, and polite.  I lub her.

This was her original feeling about the water but between my mom's pool, her daycare providers pool and the lake she's tossed all fear aside. We're always in the water. When the snapping turtle appeared under our dock and she started fishing off of it too she started to give the lake water the side eye. So now she'll say "fishies?" and I'll say "no they swam away, they know its your turn to swim. Hop in!" And she'll be all "oh of course, my turn" and jump. :)

I'm hoping she'll be able to float on her own by the end of the summer. But we insist that she wear her jacket or puddle jumper when she's near the water right now. She's just too fearless at the moment and could slip under.

J has been learning to swim over the past few summers and is getting quite good at it, but Jo may beat him!

  • I love it! She's such a big girl!

I want to get maggie one of those puddle jumper thingys. This video might have motivated me to do that.
