Update on party

It was a story of tears, a table catching on fire, 2 drunk men, some mean looks, and lots of friends.

The grooms mom and step dad ended up coming to the party. They did not stay very long she told me that her ex's new wife made a ugly comment to her she never told me what was said but the grooms mom went in the bathroom in tears.

The grooms dad caught a table on fire. They had those oil type lamps on the table and he was pouring the oil and lighting it at the same time it caught the table on fire and the umbrella and the chairs. Surprisingly it did not catch the trees or the house on fire.

Most of our friends were there so it was good to get together with them.

My bff husband got very drunk and had to be carried of the party they ended up taking him across the street to the grooms house. Bff was embarrassed and sat at a table the rest of the night and cried...she said she was not staying with his drunk asse at the grooms house. The grooms dad passed out in the bathroom and had to be helped to the bed.

It could have gone alot worse but it was still just a party so they can drink. Noone recongnized the bride and groom. The grooms dad did do a "toast" but he was so drunk you could not understand anything he was saying.

The whole party was just strange to me.

Oh wow...so strange, and you were right it sounds like it was a drunkfest.  Are you glad you stayed to watch the drama, or did you try and duck out early?
  • Well I was glad I went. You know the other 2 girls I had problems with at the b party? Well they did not even show up. 2 weeks ago the bride sent them a message asking if they were coming and telling them they could stay there since they live 3 hours away. One told her she was coming and the other never responded. Well on thursday she sent them a message again asking if they were coming and one told her no and the other never responded. So she called her and she said she did not think she would be able to come. So I was glad I went just for that reason.

Actually I was talking with one of my friends I had not seen in awhile so we ended up staying. And I was glad we did when my bff husband got as drunk as he did so T could help put him to bed.

Well, Im glad you went and was able to spend some time with friends :)  Glad the other two girls didnt show up too!  If I were the bride, that would show me what kind of friends they really are.
  • well at the end of the night she was having a b!tchfest about them. She was pissed and frustrated and annoyed. She said she had thought about telling them they were not in the wedding but seeing how everyone has already bought their dresses she could not tell them they were in the wedding.

Im sure her being drunk really brought on the drama, and like she said its kind of too late :(

I think you realize who your true friends are during the wedding planning process, and that does suck.  I learned, and just sucked it up and after the wedding I eventually cut my friend from my life.

Yeah I feel like that is what she is going to do after the wedding with these girls. They all went to community college together and lived together. I honestly think they have just grown apart. As bad as that is and as much as you hate it what they had in common is not much.
