Howdy peeps.
I am going to start a food blog in the next few weeks, as soon as Casey's party is out of the way (i.e.: when the house is done).
So...how do I start this bad boy? Hmmm? I have absolutely no experience blogging or creating websites. Blogger v. wordpress?
Oh ya, and there is a good chance that once this blog is actually up and running, I'll have many more questions. lol
Re: Blog tips
If you're looking for a super easy plug and chug kind of blog, I would go with Blogger. It's very simple to use, and gives you easy startup. Customizing is fairly basic, but there are a ton of templates out there.
Wordpress is a bit more complicated (although not that much). I prefer WP for the customizable options - and since I'm currently in the process of moving over to my own domain, WP was definitely the way to go.
The first thing you need to do is decide where you want to host it and sign up! Then you can ask us all the questions you have as you start!
This was one of the MAJOR reasons I left Blogger! I have no idea why they made it so difficult to upload photos, and they can't even handle huge photo files. WP is about 100% easier on the photo front.
I hate that they cant handle huge photos but it's actually easy to upload pics. Once I figured it out, it was easy but they did make it really weird to do.
I just went with Blogger because that's all I ever knew. I didn't know of WP till after the fact but I like Blogger and find it easy to use.

There's a way to make the pictures larger. And it's also a little easier and faster to upload them to tinypic, then go to blogger and put them in the post.
Tay-There aren't a whole lot of tips yet till you choose where you'll be blogging. IMO: Blogger is super easy. WP is harder to learn. I think blogger would be best for you.
Yeah, i know there is this code, just havent used it yet. I hate tiny pic and I know I can use Photobucket but oh well. There is always a way around it. But I love blogger.

What is the difference between blogger and wp?

Depends how you look at it. WP has more customizing, but the most effective use of it is customizing the code - which isn't doable for most people. I would say where Blogger is more template heavy, WP is more code heavy (but you can limit this use by going with their customizable templates).
I personally prefer the interface of WP, it's more complex than Blogger - but I needed that.
In general though, they are both just hosting sites for blogs with similar abilities.
I'm starting a blog too and don't know where to start. Okay, I have a ton of things to write about and pictures to post but I can't even think up a cool name for it yet. That's the only reason I haven't done it yet. *sigh*
I'm going with blogger too. It seems easier.
