Surprise 60th/costume party
We are having my mom a surprise 60th/costume party on sat oct 30 at a firehall in my community.
When would you send out invites? I thought I should send them earlier then normal since it is on a 'holiday' weekend.
Also for food we want to do fall like foods... any suggestions?
So far we thought various soups and stews, casseroles, hot beef and gravy.
Any yummy recipes or other ideas you would like to share?
Re: Surprise 60th/costume party
I think that is a tough one because it is a surprise party. The more time you give people the more people have the opportunity to slip the surprise. On the other hand you make a good point that it is a holiday weekend. I still think that I would send them out at 4 weeks.
What about doing a chilli bar? Depending on how many people are coming, you could make 2-3 different types of chili and have all sorts of toppings. I would also serve some type of bread/biscut/etc and some sort of gree salad.
Are you going to do a cake? If not, you could serve apple crisp w/ ice cream.
GL!
