Ten Things Tuesday

Re: Ten Things Tuesday

    1. We leave for P-town friday morning.  Family week here we come.  I am very excited but also overwhlmed with all the stuff we need to get done before we leave.
    2. E started a new early intervention play group yesterday, Jump, jiggle and jive!  It is for one year olds and it was fun.  Her baby group stopped for the summer and I am glad to have her have an activity each week.  Also great is that it is free and thatthe other babies are in EI too so I don't feel self concious about E being behind.
    3. I need to get a car soon and it is stressing me out but I am so excited to have my own wheels again.  I got rid of my car last October it will be great to be a two car family again.
    4. I can't believe that E starts daycare in a month.  I am so stressed. I am happy with our dc provider I just am sad that she has to go.
    5. I think that E will really like daycare she is so active and I am looking forward to seeing her grow and learn.
    6. E will not let us put shoes on her.  Every time we try she curls her feet up.  This is fine now but I don't know what we are going to do when she learns to walk and when the weather turns.
    7. E also has the smallest feet know to man.  She is still in the 3-6 month size.  I think she won't walk because she is so tippy.
    8. We can't decide whether to register for the family week activities.  I don't know how much we will do and E is young for many of the activities.  We can register  when we get there so it is not a huge deal now but I feel like we should at least do some of the stuff.
    9. The back to school ads are making me sad.  I don't want my vacation to end.
    10. E is very vocal today, I hope she stays that way for Early intervention when they get here in a few minutes.

  • 1) I can't wait to go blueberry picking, i love fresh blueberries!

    2) I'm passed exhausted and have entered brain dead.  Rosebud is the worst teether i've ever known.  It would be really really nice if she could sleep a little more than 30 minutes at a clip tonight.

    3) The kids have a visit at 5pm tonight. the witching hour. Good luck to BM and SW!

    4) because of the wacky visit time, DW and I might be able to enjoy a kid free dinner.

    5) In speaking w/ some friends and coworkers this week, its occured to me that i'm a very blunt spouse.  i dont think sugar coating has ever crossed my mind.

    6) My conflicted post has been resolved and dw and I are getting away for our anniversary! i'll be anxious, but it'll be worth it.

    7) Sprout has been perseverating on death lately and i'm not entirely sure about how to respond to his questions and comments. such a heavy topic for a little boy.

    8) I'm in the mood to do some baking - its been a long time since I've done any.

    9) We need to get going on our basement refinish (its sad that i've been talking about doing this in my TTTs for at least a year now...)

    10)  After seeing Ella's beautiful bday pics, i'm toying with the idea of having rosebud's bday at a lake house...now I've just got to get DW on board.

  • 1. I made it through yesterday in one piece. Yeeee haw!

    2.  I am holing up in my office so I don't run into the mom who cussed me up one side and down the other (I know she is in the hospital for an appt.)

    3.  I got to work early (thanks to the kids waking for the day at 5:45) and feel like I have been here forever. I can't believe I have another 5+ hrs to go.

    4. Last night Carter accidentally head butted L at her incision site from her surgery this winter. It really hurt her and this morning the first thing out of his mouth to her was, 'Are you feeling better, Mom?  I am sorry. It was an accident. I love you." *heart*

    5.   I am starving and would love a great salad.

    6.  Given how busy/horrible work was on Friday/Monday, I should relish the quiet of today.

    7.  I came up with TTT last night at midnight while I was lying awake and making sure Gray went back to sleep (he'd woken with nightmares.) Now I can't remember them.

    8.  Gray is starting to sleep walk. The other night around 10, he walked into our room, looked confused, turned around and I thought he went back to bed. I got up to help him back into bed and found him half way down the stairs. Scary. Glad we were awake.

    9.  Why am I looking at houses online when 1) We decided to stay in our house for several more years and 2) We jsut refinanced last month (and haven't even made the first new mortgage payment.)?

    10.  I guess it is cheaper than looking at clothes/toys/books online since I have a tendency to pull the trigger on those items. A house isn't so easy.

It was fun alhough I wish we had better weather.  That is the one negative to an outdoor venue.  I think we all had a good time though.

  • 1. I am still sunburned from Saturday, ouch.

    2. I have an appointment with the Art Institute tomorrow to go over their baking and pastry program, it would be nice to be formally trained.

    3. DD's class list gets posted tomorrow.

    4. And she starts school on Thursday.

    5. Why is school starting in July?  Track schedules are weird.

    6. I think our cupcake shop idea is blowing up into an all out pastry shop.

    7. Plus I would like to offer regular lunch type foods and coffee.

    8. I'm thinking something like The Library coffee shop in Long Beach would be awesome.

    9. I honestly would love a gay oriented shop but am not sure how to go about making that happen.  I don't live in a largely gay populated area.

    10. My DD needs a sibling...

    1. Necessity is truly the mother of invention. I left my hands-free pumping bra in the car today, so I had to rig up a substitute. Turns out that 6 paper clips, 3 binder clips, a rubber band, and a hair tie can actually be fashioned into a workable hands-free pumping device. Who knew?
    2. I can't believe I missed seeing E's bday pics-- I have been stalking the internet ever since the day hoping to see some!
    3. I just got an assignment from my boss that I'm afraid I can't handle. This is going to really stress me out over the next few days.
    4. I just got back to work after being on maternity leave and I am already yearning for a vacation.
    5. We need a second reliable vehicle. Too bad we can't have it without a second car payment.
    6. I am very, very thankful that we weathered the storm as well as we did. I feel so bad for TFW and her car!
    7. S is out running errands today and I haven't been able to get in touch with her to see how the kids are-- I feel so out of touch.
    8. I have 21 emails open that all need my "immediate attention." Ha!
    9. On that note, nine things it is... Back to work!
married 03/08/08 -- ttc with PCOS (dx 2005) & DS

  • 1. 48 hours in and we're doing well.

    2. If I keep counting the hours I'll drive myself crazy.

    3. When DW walked into her new job the first thing she saw was the memorial to the three people who have died while doing what she is training to do. Lovely.

    4. The second thing she saw was a display of all the poisons snakes and creatures that she may encounter as part of her new job. Again, lovely.

    5. JB and I are going to a home owner's association meeting tonight. I plan on using my daughter's cuteness to make sure we win our battle to keep our shed. :-p

    6. During my last two nursing breaks JB has not wanted to eat.  I suppose she'll eat when she gets hungry enough.   ::shrug::

    7. I'm in the middle of the most tedious work project ever! The person before me started it in 2007 and it's still going.....and going....

    8.  There are two people in the US with JB's name.  Want to know how many people have your name? Check out this site.

    9. I need to drink more water.

    10. When was the last time you actually had to lick a stamp?

  • 1. I started this earlier but navigated away for some reason.  Let's see if I can be focused enough to finish this time.

    2. I think I'm getting a cold. Sad

    3. We've been talking more and more about having kids lately.  I think our initial timeframe of 2-3 years out for TTC is still sticking, but we've realized that there is a lot to think about and plan.

    4. I've started looking into moving to our DC location (see #3) because work/life balance would be so much better.  There is going to be a lot of networking involved to make it happen. It could also be a very good move for my career, so that's an added bonus.

    5. I'm still browsing condo auctions, but now I'm thinking of what we could live in for 2 years and subsequently hold as an investment property (see #3 and #4).

    6. I left without my cell phone this morning.  It feels strange without it.

    7. I've reconnected with someone who was like a second mom to me growing up. Our relationship was mega-awkward after I came out, but things are good now. A mutual friend told me that she was asking about me, so I decided to call her. We had a really good talk.  She asked about DW, which has never happened before.  It was good to hear how her life is going and how her kids are doing.

    8. One of my best friends is having her baby shower this weekend.  I'm very sad that I have to miss it.  I might see if I can find a last minute flight.

    9. I think I might actully have time to go to SSA on Friday to try to get my name changed.  I've been saying that for months and I keep putting it off.

    10. I'm excited for camping in 2 weeks.

  • 1. No IUI this month. estrogen too high for injectibles.

    2. I really need to pee. TMI? :)

    3. I have an interview on Thurs and I'm not sure I want the job.

    4. I am calling in sick to my job for said interview.

    5. I really really really want a baby.

    6. I am wearing all black today. Dislike.

    7. We might have a new AC this weekend.

    8. I want a snack.

    9. C got me addicted to popsicles. at least they're sugar free.

    10. I can't believe baby E is over a year already!

Anything I can help with or find someone who can? We are fine, my phone is acting crazy. The kids were GREAT, but I couldn't handle the third errand.

    *****************************************

    1. I am pretty bummed that we haven't baptized our kiddos yet...it is considered an ASAP must in my family.
    2. Reference #1, getting all the people together has been hard.
    3. I would love to get DD's ears pierced, but have conceded to C, it should be DD's decision.
    4. Tomorrow will be the last day that I will work with a very dear friend of mine (she is retiring). I really don't want to go to the party...I don't want my co-workers to see me cry.
    5. Though I hated the storm, it was interesting and neat to see how rapidly C could pack up all the stuff for the kiddos.
    6. Reference #5, we (accidentally) brought two deodorants each with us...can you tell how hot is has been? LOL!
    7. The kiddos have to wear their monitors another 6 weeks. I must admit that it gives me peace of mind when we go to sleep at night.
    8. My oldest daughter seems to be having a rough time...I wish I could help her.
    9. I play the kiddos lullabies that I used to play for my oldest. There is one special song and I ALWAYS break down and cry.
    10. Our DS has at least 4 mosquito bites...Sad

Do you have a popsicle maker or ice pop molds?  I highly recommend them!  The possibilities are endess, and you can make them as good for you or as bad for you as you want.

  • 1. Julie is guest starring in a Drag Show this Thursday, her stage name is JT Amore. I'm nervous for her, but I'm SO excited for the show. She's doing Sexy Back and Everybody Loves Me. Who knew that creating a beard was so difficult?! Thank god for Crepe wool.

    2. Julie is so nervous it's adorable

    3. I've invited everyone I know, who wants to come cross county ;-)

    4. Work is finally slowing down, goodbye 14hrs days.

    5. Eating ice cream for dinner the second night in a row.

    6. I am truly terrified of death, I'm afraid I won't get to do all the things I want to do.

    7. We go a no bark thing for the dogs. You plug it into the wall, and whenever they bark it plays a high pitched noise (we can't hear it). They went from barking at EVERYTHING to not barking at all in 24hrs. The best part?! The device was 10$

    8. Julie got a great review at work, and hopefully a raise will follow.

    9. I just got a raise too.

    10. I miss this board.

    !

I am so behind on the blog, for really no reason.  So since you wanted to see some here is the link to the shutterfly album.  I must say I am totally not happy with the pictures.  I didn't take enough and should have given the camera to a different person during cake.  I am mad at myself as I didn't go and take pictures of the signs we had up.  Oh well I think next year I will hire a photography student to take pictures.
