What do you do with pictures?

I was recently looking through some of the pictures my friend took from our trip to Europe back in October 2008, and I realized that we all took some great photos!  It's been almost two years though and they're all just sitting on my computer still.

Ever since I got my first digital camera I've hardly developed any pictures except those that I know are going straight into a frame (like with the wedding pics).

So this got me thinking, do you ladies still print most of your pics for photo albums?  Do you create photo books online or print and stick them in a traditional album?  I love looking through old pictures, but the thought of organizing all of them into albums could be daunting.  What do you do?

Re: What do you do with pictures?

  • I typically leave them in online photo albums or on my computer.  If I do want them in a physical album, I typically print them off at home and put them in a photo album, but that doesn't happen very often.  For special pics (wedding, etc) I'll create a photo book online to get better quality.

  • I guess I'm kind of like you in that only important pictures get printed out and framed.  The rest usually stay on a computer or are emailed out to people that would like them.
  • I keep them "filed" on snapfish, but I scrapbook as much as I can. It's very time consuming, so I don't have as much done as I'd like, but I love what I've actually done.  With the baby on the way, I anticipate having even less time, so I may start making more digital photo books for what I can't get around to scrapbooking.
  • I do a lot...I always upload them to shutterfly or kodak.  I usually wait until I get a good coupon or a sale and then I print a bunch.  I have tons of frames!  With pics of my neices and nephews I have albums for each that I throw in pictures as I go.

I also do photo books.  I'm actually dreading what I'm going to do with all our wedding pictures.  I have a TON in shutterfly from friends and family and I printed about 150... I haven't gotten my pro pics yet...

I need to do an album for us, for my parents, IL... BUT I'm thinking Christmas will be easy this year... and very self centered!! LOL.

We also did a family portrait shoot with my parents and my brother/sil and their kids so i'm planning to do some stuff with that as well!

  • we print them when we want them framed.  all of them live on our computer then on our backup hard drive.

  • As far as Alexa's photos go I just finished them up in a book on Shutterfly:

I did the same for our wedding. As far as our other photos go they just sit on my computer, but now that we have a kid there really aren't any photos that don't involve her anyways ;)

Unfortunately I have too many just saved on my computer. Occasionally when there is a sale with shutterfly or something, I'll get a bunch printed and put it in a photo album.

Your photobook is amazing!!  When she's older she is going to love that you took the time to do this.  :)

  • Mine are all stored digitally in random places on different computers. I have this ongoing goal to sort & organize them so they are in one place and to print and make albums for certain events/people, but somehow I never get around to doing that. I would love to have physical albums or prints of many of them. Now that I'm thinking about it, I remember ordering prints of a trip in 2007 that I never got around to putting in an album... *mentally adds that to my forever-long to-do list*
