Your Toledo post reminded me I was gonna post this:
Tom Waniewski, Toledo City Council July 27, 2010 A Reminder: Toledo City Councilman Tom Waniewski and the Ohio Department of Transportation are holding a public meeting Tuesday, July 27th at 6:30 p.m. in the Sanger Branch Library on Central Ave. east of Secor. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the planned widening of I-475 in both east and west directions and the subsequent impact on motorists and nearby neighborhoods. "I've asked city representatives to be there, including the chief of police," Toledo City Councilman Tom Waniewski said. "Much of the traffic may be re-routed because of the ramp closings, and I want neighbors to be able to ask questions about the potential impact." For more information, contact Tom at 419-350-4277.

Random story:
My bff was a loud voice for her neighborhood a few years ago when the sub station was closing.
She wrote a bunch of letters to the Blade and was pretty vocal about her dislike of Carty. He ended up seeing one of the letters and looked up her address and wrote her a letter back. She pinned it on her fridge for a while cause she thought it was so funny.
A year or so goes by and she recieved an award from the American Heart Association for awareness about heart disease. Carty was the person who gave it to her. He's all smiles and as she's walking across the field they announce her name and she said his smile fell and he gave her a "I know who you are" look.
BWHAHAHA
I thnk you should stir up trouble like she used to!
I wish I could. But can guarantee DH prefers I don't. I have a tendency to take things too far. And he'd rather my/our name not be in a paper he is currently boycotting.
I saw this the other day when I stopped at Ghetto Kroger. Someone had tried to convince DH that the Secor ramps were also being closed. That would have been awesome.
I know...as if replacing the overpass last year wasn't awesome enough. I'm really not looking forward to traffic once again being rerouted through our neighborhood...that was the worst part of it all!
And thanks, LT...I did send Mr. Waniewski what turned out to be a rather lengthy email.
