I just survived my first yoga class

Hot yoga at that.  Essentially, 90 minutes in a sauna.  My instructor was very nice about it.  Even though I was singled out as the newbie, I didn't feel weird about it at all.  Didn't feel like puking once, although I did make sure to hydrate beforehand and go on an empty stomach.  Made it through most of the poses, even if some weren't fully executed.  There were a few times where the dialogue in my head said something like this, "Ain't no mofo'ing way I'm going to get into the position!"  But I think I did okay.  Instructor said I did very well for a first-timer and encouraged me to come back tomorrow if I can. Oy.  Not sure I can make it tomorrow due to some prior commitments, but I can try to make it soon.

Yay me.

  • Go you! I tried anti-gravity yoga with my sister a couple of weekend ago and it was a blast, although as a newbie I pretty much looked at the instructor like she had two heads. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to go back yet, but I really want to soon! Glad you enjoyed it, but I definitely know how you felt!
  • Sounds hot...in the literal sense. =/

Better you than me kid! lol Glad you had "fun"...

  • Good for you! I liked hot yoga the one time I did it - except for the fact that it was kind of awkward because my boss dragged me to it while we were on a business trip. Yup, still weird to think about even now. :)

  • Where did you go?  I can't imagine doing hot yoga in the summertime!  I love my Vinyasa class, though!
