I got to grab a banana this morning and I get to work and start to peel it and it is a damn plantain! what the heck I realllllly wanted a banana this morning...I seriously hope the rest of them ar banana's

I had a feeling this weeks were plantains, just by the look of them. 

At least you didn't use them to make Bananas Foster only to have your world crushed when you realized it was a plantain!  That still makes me angry!

You can fry them up though and make plantain chips.  I think that's what people do with them.

I really wish BB would get their message board back up so I can complain about all these plantains.  We've had at least 3 bunches.  I'm so over it.  I want BANANAS.

My hubs is in denial that they are plantains. Lol He put them in a grocery bag with an apple to ripen them and it hasn't worked too well. Lol

I have and he says they taste that way bc they are not ripe. Also, he says he takes them out of a box that says "bananas" so they must be bananas.

I have a theory that they aren't 100% plantains but aren't 100% banana either.  I think there is some wacko farmer making mutant plananas and telling BB they are bananas.

When my dad came over today I was telling him about these and he didn't believe me when I told him, until he tried to peel one and he said "huh, and what can you do with those?" hahaha
