Grrrr! EX vent!!! (long)
So now that we live in Southgate, it seems that Amanda's mom thinks it's fine and dandy for her and Amanda to just drop by unannounced any time they feel like it. It's been twice in a week now. She knows Mike won't say no to Amanda so I think she uses it as a convenience tool. The 17th was one thing - it was 90+ degrees out, she has no a/c and she claimed the a/c at her parents was broken so even though it wasn't our weekend, she asked us if we could take Amanda overnight. Fine - Mike isn't going to let Amanda swelter at night so we told her we were going out for a bit but she could drop her off later that night. Amanda is welcome any time but her there are going to be times when we're not home, we have plans, we have company or we're getting freaky and it's common courtesy that they call first. Mike said "maybe we should've stayed in Woodhaven, she wouldn't drive here and pop in on us" Umm yeah I told him he's the one that wanted to be clsoer to Amanda; now we are and we have to deal with the pop-ins.
And to kick things up a notch, I saw them pull up while we were watching Wipeout and Amanda came to the door with an opened envelope. Apparently a piece of mail came to her grandparents house addressed "Mr and Mrs Michael Lemire" and her mom opened it!!! Now remember her name is Cindy too. Mike asked why it was open - she said because it said Mr and Mrs on it and came to her mom's house. He told her she's not his Mrs. anymore and has no business opening his mail!!!! After she left he texted her and told her she doesn't need his name any more and should go back to her maiden name.

As a fellow stepmom, I know that is the most undesirable thing to have drop ins. We made a policy with his ex to always call beforehand- we only live like 7 min away- and remember it goes both ways! Maybe a few drop ins on her would illustrate that ;-)

Yeah it's been fantastic with drop-ins since we moved into our house. We were about 12 minutes from Amanda & her mom at the apartment. Now we're probably 90 seconds from them. So I guess that makes it ok to "pop in." Mike was more pi$$ed off that she opened our mail. It was junk mail anyhow so it didn't bother me as much. But while we're in PA this weekend I'm going to ask my freind Heather if she can run over and grab our mail during the day. She also lives about 90 seconds away from us and she works from home so I can jump over there on Sunday to get it when we come home.
OH I forgot to mention the other part. Whenever she needs help or has a problme she runs to us, knowing Mike won't say no to Amanda. Our power went out Friday night from yet another tornado. They drove over because they were at the movies when the power went out & I think if our power was on she was going to drop Amanda off right then, assuming hers was out. Anyhow they had power, and before we went to my parents' for the night he asked if we could come by for 30 min or so just to see if we could wait it out. She said no because they had to go and eat, and she also said "sucks to be you." Seriously??? She runs to us for every little thing and we always help out but when we need a favor it "sucks to be us?" Yeah, he'll remember that one.
I'd be using the "sucks to be you" line right back at her next time..
Hope the pop in's stop soon! I don't know how you do it, I couldn't handle it!
