Taylor, I believe I read that you went off BC....hope Im correct!

Anywho, I have been on it for 4 years-ish and just went off it this month. I have been getting bad headaches the past few days and I am not one to get them very often. Did you experience this? I know my body needs to do some adjusting after all those years on it, just want to know if I'm alone in these side effects or not?

Not Tay, but when I first went off (about 4 years ago) I had a swing of really bad headaches (and this is for someone with chronic migraine disorder!).  It took my body a really long time to adjust to being off BC, so give yourself some time. 

But most definitely expect some side effects for at least awhile

Yes'm, I did go off the bcp, b/c those suckers were killing me.  I have always had migraines, so I didn't even think to link the two together this month.  

Oddly enough, I haven't had any side effects (that I've actually noticed), other than no AF yet.  Another nestie (I think it was Christina - Mrs. Coffman) wrote a post about AF after bcp, and a few ladies said they didn't get AF for like 1-6 months after stopping.  I hope I get mine soon, b/c the whole reason I went off was to start FAM.

No, we are not TTC..I just want to explore other options. They really did a number on me, esp emotionally. Had horrible, horrible mood swings and NO sex drive...zilch...nada. So I decided to go off and see what my options are! What is FAM?

Me too!!!!  Well the sex drive at least, my mood swings are courtesy of my bipolar disorder

FAM = Fertility Awareness Method

It's a combination of charting your temperature and checking your cervical fluids to know when you are ovulating and thus to avoid unprotected sex.   Or to know when to make babies!

I don't know if I would personally describe it as painful, but definitely had some discomfort! oooh BC so wonderful and horrible at the same time!

I went off of mine in may and didn't have any side affects I was really worried about gaining weight so I started working out a lot just in case. Like Taylor said before I had put up a post about not receiving af and I still haven't I keep getting random spotting but that's it and it spots once then nothing the rest of the day its so weird.
