Switching to cow's milk question?

My boys will be 1 in 3 weeks, so do I just switch to cow's milk after they turn 1, or should I slowly introduce it? Currently they still get 1/2 formula and 1/2 pumped BM. I've been looking online, and can't find an answer and I forgot to ask our pedi at the last visit.

Hi! We moved Camille to whole milk gradually when she turned one. If she took an 8 ounce bottle, we would put 7 ounces of formula and 1 ounce of whole milk. We wanted to make sure she didn't get a reaction and handled it well. We then increased the amount over the next two weeks. Also, from what some of my friends told me was that their kids got really constipated when they switched immediately to whole milk without gradually introducing it.Camille did great.

We did what Achelle did.  We slowly introduced milk with formula when the girls turned one, not 100% cow's milk right off the bat.  Good luck!

I introduce it gradually too. Reese is still bfing and I'm not sure when we'll start giving her whole milk but our pedi told us to go ahead as soon as we're ready. Can you believe that our babies are almost 1?

Same here.  Ben turns 1 in two weeks from tomorrow (OMG!) and we'll be introducing cow's milk slowly.  Just for fun, I was drinking milk tonight and gave Ben a little taste and he liked it.   We do the same as you Fenella -- 1/2bm, 1/2 formula, so I can hardly wait until it's all cow's milk and so much easier!!!!!!!

All great advice because I forgot how I introduced Rj to cows milk. 

BTW to answer your question about what Celeste will be fr her birthday...
