Weekend getaway?
H and I probably won't have the time for a real vacation this summer and can only go somewhere in the surrounding area. Any ideas where to spend 3 or 4 days? Not Harbor Country. My Parents live just over the border in Indiana so it wouldn't really feel like getting away. We've been further up in Michigan though and liked that.

Canada? we looked into it and the hotel rates for somewhere right in downtown are very acceptable..
We just spent our honeymoon in the Traverse City, MI area. It was gorgeous! There is a wide variety of things to do whether you want to shop downtown(the city has a lot to do), go to the dunes, the beach or kayaking, or our favorite part of the area is wine country with free wine tasting. The wineries are relatively close together on two peninsulas and the drive between them is gorgeous!
It's a little bit of a drive, but you get to drive up the beautiful shore.. We live in Northwest Indiana and found some places to stop along the shore to make the trip seem shorter.
