I am home for the summer with DD, and I am running out of things to do with her. H is at work all day. Things we do on a daily basis: go for a walk, paint/color, play outside, I let her watch a few cartoons, read, run errands, if needed and have play time. Things we do a few times a week: see my parents, library, go for a car ride, meet up with my friend and her son who is abour DD's age, and a few other things inbetween. We have gone to the zoo a few times this summer also along with the Children's museum.
I feel like the days are getting so redundant and I want to break away a bit and do something different. I don't have a ton of money to spend.
Does anyone have anyother ideas that can help change things up a bit in the Grand Rapids area?
BTW she is 2.
Re: GR things to do w/ your LO??
How old is she?
Addie loves to go to the airport, and see the planes... but if your daughter is younger that wouldn't work.
Going to the park? Going to feed the ducks? Frederick Meijer Gardens?
That's all I can think of off hand.
Two friends of mine have websites on that very subject!

-library (for storytime and other times just to play)
-walks
-park (what are do you live? Ada, cascade, and GR Township are 3 nice ones that I visit)
-play center at the mall. (great to burn off energy on a rainy day)
-Fredrick Meijer Garden's (yes the cost money, but if you plan to go often buy a pass, completely worth it)
I have these in my google reader:

it is also nice to walk downtown along the river and outside of the GR Ford Museum and see the fountain...
Make sure you take advantage of GRPL's free tickets to the Children's Museum, FMG, the zoo, etc.
I'm not sure if Lamar Park is the one by the dam on Cascade and Thornapple River Dr. but they have a splash pad.
What about driving to Muskegon and going to the beach? It's only a 40 minute drive from GR.
Do you have a kiddie pool for your DD? I got one for free at Kohl's with their $10 coupons.
GL!
