any police wifes or cops themselves?

Here's the question. A woman gets raped. Isn't there suppose to be a female officer sent for the case, not a male? or is that just on tv?

Re: any police wifes or cops themselves?

  • My DH was in the running to become a police officer, but the unit decided they didn't have enough budget to hire, so he knows a *little* about this stuff (however, I'm adding the disclaimer that he might be wrong).  He says that if there is to be any kind of physical exam, then yes a female officer would need to be involved, but just to respond to the case or take information he believes it can be an office of either sex.  Someone please correct me if he's wrong!
  • I'd ask hubs, whose a cop, but he's deployed :-/  I *believe* PP is correct...
