Camera

I am interested in a nice camera that I could use for portaits. Any recommendations, under $1,000

Re: Camera

  • I love my Nikon D3000. Paid about $700.00 for the camera and two lenses. Have since added another lens. No complaints so far.

  • I have the Nikon d5000 which is one step up from the d3000.  It is a great camera and allows you to grow with it.  WHen i was looking into what camera to get, I read this which I thought was interesting.  I believe the camera was around $700 which came with a 55 mm lens and then I purchased a 200 mm lens as well.  I LOVE the camera so far!

They article said there are 3 types of cameras, Cannon, Nikon and then everyone else.  Cannon was designed by engineers and Nikon was designed by photographers.  With that said I would stick with either a cannon or nikon.
