Good grief... what's with this weather!

This is crazy. ?DH just got back from tearing out the carpet in his parents' basement from the flooding yesterday. ?One of his brother's (finished) basement is a total loss. ?It has to be gutted. ?My parents live in central IL and are getting hit today. ?They have 2 sump pumps and both of them have been running all night/day. ?Unbelievable. ?

Thank god that we

• live on the high point in the area
• our basement is finished- but with tile and no carpet
• we had "seepage" in only one spot and well the wet vac is able to pick it up as it comes in.

The bad part is that I am sick of hearing the wet vac.

This is crazy.  80-94 is closed and I can't get out of my neigborhood.  Anyone up North by Rosemont?  I work there...just wondering how travel is going to in the morning.

My DH works in Rosemont too, but he take 294 from Elmhurst to get there. I have a feeling there'll be a lot of traffic tomorrow morning... still lots of flooding! ?GL!

Our roof has been leaking nonstop since the rain started.? A section of the ceiling and wall is ruined AND our house is on the market so this sets us back at least a few weeks until the HOA can fix everything.

Milwaukee and River intersection is also closed and traffic lights near there are all out.? It was a lovely drive to work today.

I just want to go to sleep and wake up to everything being back to normal.
