Hi Ladies,

How was everyone's weekend?

Re: Weekend Recap

  • Hello!

Uneventful, really. DH and I went out on "date night" Friday night. Then yesterday ran around for the better part of the afternoon trying to find this stroller to look at. No one who said online that they had it really had it. Very annoying.

Had a lazy day full of cleaning, grocery shopping, etc today. And I'd like to take a moment to specially thank foster lab for the dead animal carcass she brought in from outside, hidden in her mouth, and proudly displaying it on my living room rug.

  • We had a party here Saturday night which was super fun, but I had too much to drink.  Today was just cleaning up and relaxing.

Punky what kind of stroller are you getting?

  • Sorry about the dead animal carcass, Punky!

Friday DH and I stayed out late and played tennis.  On Saturday, I went to Portsmouth and to a local farmer's market and picked up yummy fruit.  Saturday night, we went out to dinner and to Kimball Farm and played mini-golf.   We hadn't done that in years.  I also successfully beat him in air hockey :)  Pretty proud of myself!!!

  • Exhausting, but loving every minute! We had a couple doctor's appointments to keep checking on Jamie's jaundice, which is going away. We also found out that he's already back to his birth weight, little piggy!

Unlike any weekend I've ever had, but hands down the best :-)

    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • We had a fantastic weekend as NYC tourists!  We took Friday off from work and headed down for a wedding weekend.  Got in line that afternoon for 1/2 price Broadway tix because I've always wanted to see a show on Broadway and somehow have never gotten around to doing it.  We saw American Idiot, which was fun, and then had a late dinner at Le Bernardin--apparently, I really really like langoustine :)  Totally crashed that evening after a long day of driving and walking around.

Saturday we met up with DH's little cousin and took her out for lunch. Then she played tour guide and took us on the subway (an adventure unto itself) down to see the World Trade Center site and temporary memorial "museum."  We walked a part of the Brooklyn Bridge, then took a quick look at Central park before hitting Jamba Juice.  Then we got ready for the wedding which was amazing.  They spared no expense (who has a carving station during cocktail hour?!) and we got to catch up with a lot of old friends who are scattered throughout the country.  We got together with a few of them again this morning for brunch before driving back home.  It was a super fun weekend, but now I'm ready to crash again!

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

That is so great that he is back to his birth weight!

  • Sounds like great weekends all around!  JCam, I'm happy that you guys are all doing well.

I spent my weekend at the beach.  Burned my chest on Saturday, and the back of my legs on Sunday.  Sigh.  The problem with the cooler weather is that I don't remember to re-apply my sunscreen.

  • yay little Jamie!

our weekend was busy busy.  we spent literally every waking moment working on our bathroom renovation.  We did the following: new electrical, new insulation, installed new vent fan/duct work, took out existing door (bought new one, haven't installed it yet), hung sheetrock and cement board, picked out paint color, and started spackling.

I am so jealous.  Our bathroom is similarly dated and so so gross that I just want to take a sledgehammer to the whole thing, but I know it will be a lot of work to put back together so I am being patient.  I want to make sure we have a plan so it comes out just right in the end.  Plus I have a lot of wallpaper to remove in other rooms first, which should be a little easier.

Anyway, it looks great so far and I am looking forward to seeing the end result!

  • Friday I met up with friends for ice cream. We were going to play minigolf but we missed time by literally 10 seconds. They were just closing the door.

Saturday I had a bridal shower to go to. The food was good. But overall it was kinda boring. Then I went into the city with my HS friends for the night. It was fun but tiring.

After I got home Sunday we got the groceries, then just lounged.

  • I had a great weekend!

DH and I went up to Maine on Saturday morning. We decided to have fun and rent a car. We got a Chrysler Sebring convertible. It was such a beautiful weekend, we couldn't pass up the chance. We first went to my grandfathers cottage where we had lobster, pulled pork sandwiches, salads, homemade blueberry pies and sangria. I also relived my childhood and caught some frogs on the pond. Stick out tongue

That night we went to a park in Brewer to see my cousin perform in Romeo and Juliet. She was Juliet and she just blew me away at how talented she is! She has to be if she's going to NY this fall to study at a Dramatic Arts School.

Sunday morning was a long run (11 miles) and then we went out to breakfast and met up with some cousins from upstate NY that we haven't seen in years! There were tears all around. Then DH and I drove back home.

Tonight I'm going to a Red Sox game with my SIL. Phew, what a great weekend!

  • Friday night, I had friends over as it was my friend's last night in Boston. She moved to Dallas and I miss her tons already! Saturday, we went hiking in Waltham, that's right, Waltham! Who knew that they had hiking trails at Prospect Hill? Not great, but still it's something and it's 5 minutes from my house!

We went to a Brazilian Steakhouse Saturday night for my FIL's bday and then Sunday, I went kayaking. Pretty fun weekend!

Oh and I started reading Breaking Dawn and I can't put the thing down!

  • I went on an adventure to Seattle with a friend to visit another friend of ours who recently moved there. Such a good time! We saw tons of sites, did lots of wine tasting, ate fabulous food, and did some good catching up. I'm so glad I got to go.

Sounds like everyone else had great weekends as well!
