What to wear blueberry picking?
One website said long pants, long sleeves, and closed-toe shoes. It's like 832 degrees here today. Other sites didn't mention what to wear. WWYD?
DS is picking with me, and we'll both be slathered in sunscreen.

I would think they were worried about bugs/ticks, so I would tend to go with the long pants and close toed shoes. Or slather on bug repellent. We went peach picking last weekend and there was tall, tangley grasses, so I was glad to not be in flip flops...
Have fun!!!
ETA: Oh, hadn't even thought of poison ivy....
Yeah, I'd at least to the long pants and closed shoes to prevent ticks, other bug bites, and general abuse by the surrounding plants. Short sleeves would likely be okay (but I have zero poison ivy experience).
I wore jeans, closed shoes/socks, and a light l/s shirt. The branches didn't have pokers but we did reach pretty far into the bushes and could've been scratched doing that. There were also some flying bugs around. It was hot in the sun, but not unbearable. I kept thinking, "At least I'm not running in this weather; this is almost pleasant."

they must have poison ivy issues... i'd honestly go somewhere that doesn't have it if that's an option.
do bring an old belt to hook the bucket to around your waist so you can use both hands. and get an extra bucket so you can lighten your load as you go.
it took me about an hour and a half to pick a gallon, FYI.
