what did you do this weekend???
Re: How was your weekend?
Not much to say here. I was able to get most of the laundry done; C got the other car running (though we may need a battery...it hasn't been started since the blizzard); Church; a nice meal at Panera; and even had a few minutes of "we" time.
Saturday - ran some errands, went to the playground, and actually got the kids down for a nap early. We had a babysitter come and we went to see The Kids are All Right (loved it) and went to dinner. Came home, put the kids to bed, and watched West Wing.
Sunday - Went to Kohls and spontaneously bought new bedding set http://tiny.cc/4rlrq, went to the park where the airplanes fly directly over your head (we thought the kids would love it - but after 3 planes, they were over it), picked up our friend at the airport, went to lunch, dropped him off at his hotel in DC, and then it took us 90 minute to get home (normally 30) - but it gave the kids time for a nap. Went to the playground, discovered that our new neighbors have 5y old twin boys, and watched Super Squad (Carter is REALLY into superheros these days.) L watched True Blood and I went to sleep (I can't stand that show.)
Friday DW and I took a half day. We went to see The Kids are Alright and spent some time packing for our weekend away. Then we picked up the kids, had a quick dinner at home, and headed right back to school for a water carnival. Sprout had a blast (and stayed up waaay past his bed time!) while Rosebud slept peacefully in the ergo.
Saturday we were up early and, after dropping the dog at my parents, headed up to boston. We had a great time visiting family and the kids did pretty well sleeping in a new house...we even managed to keep them quiet and in bed until 8:30.
another weekend that went by way to fast...

I don't know what's going on with our weekends lately, they have been less than stellar.
Saturday, the girls both woke up with fevers of 103+, super. Nothing else seemed wrong, ( no cough, complaints etc. ) so we kept them cool and comfortable as best we could. Sunday, they were completely fine again but we stayed in and kept them mellow anyway. I am still a tad worried and keeping a close on eye on both but they seem okay again today.
I declare that this weekend will be a good one, fever, drama and pity-party free!
Saturday we ran errands and did some shopping. For dinner we made lobster at home for the very first time!! We bought huge lobsters at the local fish market and feasted upon them in honor of our birthdays. It was awesome!
Sunday we went to a local state park for the first time, which was beautiful! We're super excited to live so close and will be going back again and again for sure!

Sounds like our life when we moved to Philly 2 years ago (minus the house not selling). Try to stay optimistic, things will definitely get better (we're living proof!).
We had date night on Friday, and our friends (jokingly) accused us of being lame because we didn't want to go out after. It was already late and DW had to work early on Saturday morning, so there was no way we were going out. On Saturday I cleaned because our place was totally messy. DW was off on Sunday, but we couldn't decide what to do because the weather was supposed to be gross. We slept in and went to lunch in the 'burbs so we could go to the Target with the better camping & outdoor section.
ETA: I forgot one thing... big plus of the weekend... I accidentally almost quit drinking caffeine. I've been trying to quit soda/caffeine for months. On Sunday I realized that I hadn't been drinking as much of it as usual (just 1 can per day since Friday), and I'd had 3 huge bottles of water on Sunday. I had one can this morning, but other than that it's been water all day. I don't have a massive headache, so hopefully I can keep up with this!
