Gifts

I know I have another 4 months but I am so clueless right now on what to get G for anniversary and christmas. He will tell me nothing and I just can't get nothing. Why is this boy so hard to buy for!!

The thing he really wants is way out of my christmas budget but I could give him some money to put on it (he wants a gun). He loves hockey but last time I got tickets he said they were too expensive and that I probably could have gotten closer seats for less price.

Good thing I have 4 months but it is so frustrating. I am tempted to just make him a card and be done with it, but then I will feel bad for not getting him anything.

Just ranting and venting.

Re: Gifts

  • I have no idea what to get DH either!  I think 3rd anniversary gifts are either leather or crystal.  I was thinking about getting a nice crystal liquor decanter, but I dont know if Im going to have the $$$ for that.

What about getting him a GC to go to a local shooting range, put it in a leather wallet?  (I have no idea if shooting ranges do this or not though).

  • we typically dont do anniversary gifts since it is so close to christmas. last year he got me flowers and i cooked a big supper and we exchanged cards and had lots and lots of cuddle time.

  • I am in the same boat. I keep an Amazon wishlist so DH always has some ideas on what to get. But he never tells me anything that he wants. And then I have his birthday the first week of Feb, so I get triple slammed!

  • I'm also a triple slammer, anniversary, xmas then bday. I'm not sure of anything right now either. DH really wants a Kindle and won't ever treat himself to anything - he just got a bonus and he would rather pay it towards the car but I told him he should buy himself something now rather than always be so sensible!

I think I'm going to have to buy gifts before the baby arrives this year as I don't want to be thinking about it afterwards!!! I just know our budget will be very small this year!

  • Another triple slammer here...DH's birthday is in November.

I haven't thought about it at all yet.  His birthday and Christmas are usually pretty easy, just because there are so many things he enjoys that he can always use more "stuff" for.

There are some "traditional" anniversary gift ideas here:  http://www.findgift.com/Anniversary-Table/

  • LOL, lots of triple slammers here :)  We are one too.  Our anniv: 12/15  DH's Birthday 12/22 Then Christmas.  Ack!!!  This year is DH's 30th birthday too.
  • We don't do anniversary gifts, but I already know what I'm going to get him for Christmas....a gift certificate to take a glass blowing class at the art gallery where we had our wedding reception. We go there all the time to watch the glass blowing demo and I know DH would LOVE to try it himself. It's not all that expensive either. $60 for a 3 hour class and he gets to take home whatever he chooses to make.

That will be so cool!  Great gift :)

  • Gift buying can be so hard!

I like Kellie's idea about a shooting range.

    What about a puppy?? :-)

I wish we could get a dog but living in ourbtownhouse is just not feasible for a dog. I will look at the shooting range. They have guns you can rent and it is very inexpensive.

  • that's so funny you ask because i started thinking about this over the weekend! our dating anniversary is 1/1 so we always had a triple slammer with dh's bday 11/3, christmas then anniversary....

that said, we've generally stuck to the <$25 gifts for anniversary. we also tie in the traditional or modern anniversary gift .... leather or crystal/glass, hmmmmmm.... i really need to think on this! i dont have a clue right now, but i just wanted to pop in the convo since i was JUST thinking about it!!
