Discovery Cruise Line; Ft. Lauderdale reviews?
Hi Ladies!
Michigan newlywed here. Would anyone happen to have any review or experience on this cruiseline? I do know what it consists of, just looking for someone that has actually taken the cruise from FTL to Bahamas.
Thanks in advance!
Re: Discovery Cruise Line; Ft. Lauderdale reviews?
i took it may cause if you the month of ur bday u are free and this was our first doing it.
Well all i can say is that you are more time in the cruise boat then on actual land. The trip to get there is 4 hours.
Best word of advice is to pay for one of their activities if not ur stuck.
You are only given i believe its like maybe like 3 hours to be on land. We went to a resort that had a beach and pool we were there for only an hour and then we took a ferry to a marketplace and were given an hour to be there and then back to the boat.
After that its another 4 hours to get back.
So i really wouldnt recommend it we got it at cheap cost which was 50 bucks her person but now i see its super expensive.
okay, thank you! Yup - My birthday is in August so it would be $35 for me and $99 for hubby. We are actually going to do the stay vaca thingie where you cruise there, stay a few days in bahamas, then cruise back.
How was he ride? boat experience?

Well i think its different when you stay there. Ive heard the hotels are okay not great but they are good.
The activity we did i think it was 35 per person and it has the bus ride to the resort they give u a free drink and you have the option to be on the beach or go to the pool that has slide and like a round about that goes around the pool after an hour, hour an half you have to be on the boat that is a ferry the ride is like 5-10 minutes. They take you to this marketplace that has little shops and you there for an hour hour an half then you got to be in the bus by that time if not they leave you.
Once you get in the boat you have dinner i would recommend you pay alittle more for the dinner cause the food wasnt great and then chill for the other 4 hours to come back oh and rent a room in the boat cause you get bored after a while.
Oh when they say free drinks its a limited of drinked like its only pina coladas, etc the simple drinks and like draft beers.
Great! Thank you very much. That really helps! I checked out the Pelican Bay @ Lucaya rooms, and they look really nice (well the upgraded room we plan on getting). And I am so thankful you suggested getting a cabin. Thank you very much

Don't go, I went a few years ago and it was terrible. It was a little rougher and cooler that day though. People were getting sick everywhere. I was so excited to go then after we had been on the boat about an hour I relized my mistake. Seeing the straw market was nice, but that was the only thing interesting. Terrible food.
