New Mother's Groups?

Hi Ladies -

My husband and I moved to MA at the end of May, and gave birth to our first child almost 3 weeks ago.

She's a doll, but I'm starting to feel slightly cooped-up.  I would love to get together with any other new moms - but have not been able to find anything in my area.  Does anyone know of a group/class in the Acton area for moms and babies.  Or any mothers near Acton who would want to meet sometime?

Thanks in advance.  :)

Re: New Mother's Groups?

  • Hello! I'm in the Acton area and just had my son last week. I'm definitely not up for GTGs yet haha, but once I am I would love to meet up. There are a few other girls who just had or are about to have a baby in this area that I met through the July Moms board. We'll have to try to get something together once we're all a bit more settled :-)

  • There is a Chelmsford Mother's Club.  My best friend just joined, and she has met a lot of other new Moms.

  • I don't have any input- just wanted to say congrats Beth! She's beautiful! :)
  • Thanks, ladies!

JCam - I'd love to get together sometime.  I remember you from posting a few times before we moved - I think we actually had the same due date (7/20?)  My little Lia came 5 days early.  I can't believe she'll be three weeks old tomorrow - it really goes by fast!  Congrats on your son - you must be so happy!  Anyways, let me know whenever you'd like to meet up.  We won't be up for large outings for a while - but maybe we could meet at a park and go for a walk, or something like that.  Even though I absolutely adore my baby - I do miss adult conversation (and my husband only got two weeks leave).

  • Thanks! I remember you too, my edd was the 21st, and he came 6 days late haha. Hopefully in a week or so I will be feeling a little more brave haha. I still haven't been alone more than an hour with him - today is my husband's last day home. I'll PM you my email address in a bit, I gotta run and feed him now though!

Edit - Okay I just sent you a PM :-)

  • J - I'm off work next Friday (supposedly anyway) - if you want some company, I guess I could come over and visit and bring lunch or something Smile

  • Hi there and welcome to Acton!  This is a great area.  I wanted to mention to you there is a great first time mothers' group in the area run by First Connections which is located in Emerson Hospital. It was a life saver for those first couple of months.  The group meets once a week at the hospital and it is a chance to meet other moms with little ones in that age range and talk about some of the issues that come up.  My son is 1.5 now and I still meet regularly with the moms from that group.
